We went twice. Our first experience was during the craft festival. The item we wanted was sold out - not a problem, we found an... alternative, which was very good. The downside: they totally dropped our order. We waited over 30 mins for two arepas andwatched people who ordered after us get served their food. It seems that the young counter helpers were inexperienced. Oursecond visit saw a big improvement on the service. The owner greeted us and was very friendly and welcoming. Our guanabana juicehit the spot. We ordered the item that was sold out on our first visit, the chicken arepa with cheese. I prefer the beefarepa. Overall, it's a decent place with decent food. I'd certainly go back again when I'm in the mood for another arepa. Read more

Came in around 2 pm on a Thursday and Melo (the owner) was on lunch break but promptly assisted us and got our order done... quickly. We had no issue waiting for him to finish his break but he has no hesitation in taking our order. Food was amazing! Read more

Ate here on Friday, the arepas were good but the stuffing was terrible! We both chose steak; Steak was like rubber(very... inexpensive cut), way too much garlic, and my GF is from Colombia! She clearly stated Colombian food does not have this muchgarlic. We both got sick about 4hrs later?.choose another place. A little high priced for what we were served. Update: Love theautocorrect spelling error notification?shows the level of the store. Read more

Place was recommended on social media as a place to visit on Mora. We found the market where the restaurant was located. We were... going to order a bunch of arepas but I guess we got there late and were only able to order 1 chorizo, 1 chicken & 1 cheese. Mywife is of Colombian descent so I'm familiar with the dish. I was surprised they didn't have any hot sauce. Though the maracuyájuice was good. Read more

You need to know about it to find it. Melo is part of the cooperative with a lot of little food vendors in the building on 4th... and Donnelly but oh so worth it. We had the pork arepas and they were outstanding. We have had arepas in Colombia and my motherin law is Venezuelan so my husband especially knows arepas. If you are in mount Dora, this is an absolutely wonderful place toeat Read more

This is a literal hole in the wall, stuck in a small corner of an indoor marketplace at Mt. Dora. I discovered Melo while eating... outdoors, and smelling the food being cooked through their tiny window. I was determined to try it! I bought the chicken arepawhich was made fresh to order and took about 10-15 minutes to make. The chicken was shredded and tender, soaked with delicioussauce and topped with fresh Columbian cheese. Besides it smelling and tasting wonderful, it was also a lot larger than Iexpected! Read more
