A very good place to eat. The food was excellent. We had whiskey sours that were unbelievable I could have kept drinking them... all night. Very nice bottle of wine. Dessert was excellent and we finished the night off with some Irish coffee. Read more
Staffs were friendly. I ordered scallions salad $9 + $16.99 for beef tip even though menu said scallions didn't have anywhere on... the plate same goes with dressing. Menu Description is different from what I got on my plate. Escargot was covered with meltedcheese but Escargot was not even hot and no favor except cheap cheese that was on it. Read more
Sat in the "she'd" at the bar. The food was excellent. The New York strip was cooked to the perfect temp, as requested medium... rare. The onion soup.are also delicious and piping hot. The only reason I gave a 4 and not a 5, is because we were sat next tosome pretty drink people at the bar who were loud and dropping plenty of F bombs. The batman could hear them and he could haveeasily asked them to lessen the swearing. Other than that, it was a great meal. Read more
As longtime Moultonborough residents, my wife and I, plus various visiting family members and friends, have enjoyed The New... Woodshed several times a year since its reopening. We like both the option of the casual camaraderie in the bar area and thequiet setting in the main dining room. The ambiance and the service have always met expectations. Unfortunately, the maincourse choices are quite limited for an establishment of this reputation. Likewise, the prime rib and steaks have been ofuneven quality. And two or three added fish entrees would be welcome (ala the original Woodshed). On our most recent visit,the smallest Oysters Rockefeller were overcooked and dried out, while the larger varieties were perfectly done. (I suspect allthree varieties we ordered were cooked at the same temp for the same time, thereby resulting in uneven texture and doneness.) Asa result of the pandemic and the influx of people to this area, making reservations during summer a problem. Like most diningestablishments, staffing issues have sometimes limited service capacity and lack of dining availability have disappointed somecustomers. We believe Greg does a fine job in accommodating these issues and goes out of his way to make The New Woodshed asatisfying experience. Read more
The restaurant is beautiful and the food was delicious. However, upon entering the restaurant the host did not give us a warm... welcome. We arrived at 5pm - when the restaurant opened. We were headed to the empty seats at the bar because we were told youdon't have to make reservations for the bar area, only during New Year's Eve. The host stopped us immediately and said there wasanother couple waiting to be seated (they were sitting at some seats inside having drinks). We were asked to sit outside andwait to be called for seats at the bar. He said that they just opened and they like to stagger people. Needless to say, it was95 degrees outside. We waited about 20 minutes. He called us in and we sat at 2 of the 4 empty seats at the bar. Not a greatfirst impression. Read more
Absolutely fabulous experience here. Got a little lost on the way, but called ahead to let the hostess know and they were very... understanding. Make a reservation, life is just easier that way, service was impeccable, food tasted great, management was alsoimpeccable. I really have zero complaints and will definitely be going back again when I'm up in the area! 10 out of 10 will100% dine here again. :) Read more
Was very delicious. Very cozy. Went here with family to celebrate parents 50th wedding anniversary. They were serving parties of... six. Had Oysters Rockefeller for app and the beef tip pasta special. Delicious. Servers and staff very attentive and friendly. Areally beautiful evening! Read more
Had a terrific evening celebrating my wife's birthday. Our server, Deni, was the consumate professional. All of our selections,... from cocktails to coffee and dessert were tastefully prepared. Meals were extremely delicious and the ambiance of the barn wasjust right. I recommend the prime rib. Read more
