I am giving them two stars because the food tasted good. The service, deserves Zero!!! We were in town for the Jazz festival... and decided to stop at South+Pine for lunch. I had visited the establishment in the past and liked the food and service.Unfortunately what a disappointing experience!!! After sitting for over 15 mins without anyone coming to our table, a waitercame over and took our order. I ordered the soup of the day (see pic). A waitress brought the soup out, no spoon. I asked for aspoon and her response was “I’ll bring it right out”. I guess she forgot or she thought I could just drink the soup withmy hands because If it wasn’t because I asked someone else, I would still be waiting. Our original waiter finally reappearedwith our main course. The food was tasty and fresh. No complaints there. In fact it was the only positive part of the wholeexperience. We asked him for water, we’re still waiting! The person cleaning the tables noticed our empty glasses and broughtus water! (We thanked him and gave him a tip when we left!) I’m not sure if it was the color of our skin (we were the onlyblack patrons at the time- hate to believe it was the reason for the poor service) but this was such an awful, disappointingexperience that I will never be back and will recommend my over 10,000 readers to stay away from this establishment. The foodmight be tasty but the service is so poor that it overshadows the quality of the food. And that’s my opinion. Read more

I honestly feel a sense of shock at what happened in this restaurant today. I will say the service is attentive but the servers... do definitely give a sense of not wanting to be there/hating their job but I guess this is common after COVID. The limited menuis usually something I prefer as there is less room for error and as someone who eats out very often I have to say this is thefirst time in my life I’ve been fed scraps for $19 in Morristown at “one of the best places in NJ” no less. Party of 2,ordered 2 other entrees to go for family I had coming over that morning and didn’t feel like cooking for. My sister and Iordered the salmon club, sister quite enjoyed hers and I was enjoying mine too until I reached bite 3 when I saw what thatoverly fishy taste was. It was SCRAPS of salmon with skin on it! Not the crispy, yummy skin I’m talking that skin you removeoff salmon when making filets on the outer edge. I debated ordering another dish but was honestly in shock and disbelief, nobodyother than the server could even come out to apologize or anything like that either. I ended up making my own food at home whilemy guests ate their takeout (burger and quinoa salad) they enjoyed it. Definitely won’t go back, Montclair is definitely asuperior brunch location and I won’t be venturing into Morristown again for their sub par options. I have probably seen lessoffensive dishes sold on kitchen nightmares than what was served to me today, 0 stars. Read more

south+pine never disappoints for dinner. Even when the restaurant is extremely busy, the wait staff is always incredibly kind... and attentive. Every dish is perfectly crafted with a unique flavor profile. We’ve tried different entrees each visit and havebeen beyond satisfied every time. After numerous visits of eyeing the burger, I finally ordered it and it did not disappoint. It was cooked to a perfect medium and topped with an egg and their signature bacon aioli. I would definitely order again, ifI’m craving an upscale burger experience. If you’re in need of starter suggestions, the lamb meatballs, chicken lollipops, and black kale salad are all delicious. In terms of entrees, I really believe that you can’t choose wrong. The menu changesseasonally and has yet to disappoint. Finally, the restaurant is BYOB, so be sure to pick up your favorite bottle of wine priorto dining. Read more

Very good food. Music playing was nice. The servers were Good. A bit pricey but it's worth it for the well presented food with... excellent flavors. It may be the farm to table type cooking - we really enjoyed it. BYOB. The atmosphere is neat as well. Read more

The food was absolutely delicious! Pancakes are my FAVORITE food and these were some of the best that I ever had - they melt in... your mouth. The service was exceptional and to top it off, we ordered our cava from the table and it was delivered to us by thewine store down the block (they're byob). Read more
