What a pleasant surprise, this family owned restaurant is marvelous! The service is topnotch. We were in Morgantown for the day... and looked up a caribbean restaurant hoping to get lucky, and boy were we in luck! The food is done correctly! Scrumptious andreminds you of a relatives Sunday dinner back home on the island. We had oxtail, and the meat on the bones melted in your mouthas the flavors danced on your tongue and made your heart sing. We also got a jerk chicken to go and enjoyed it the next day. Itwas the perfect blend of heat and sweet to balance out the grilled chicken. I hardly write reviews but this had to be written.If you don't eat here you are definitely not adding value to your life. We tried to convince the cook to move to our hometownwith her restaurant, but she wasn't having it. So, I guess we will be making hour drive to Morgantown to partake in this wellmade dish. The food is amazing and authentic. Generous portions and the price is extremely fair. Hope they become a long time staple here.... The Jerk Chicken is awesome, the fried plantains are just as I remembered them from my youth, and I am excited that oxtails areon the menu every Thursday and Friday. If you could lower the intense volume of the Jamaican music just a tad, I?ll be able to enjoy the generous portions of that... killer Jamaican Jerk chicken, rice/beans and cabbage a little better. Looking forward to trying the oxtail. Read more
This place is a gem. Delicious food and great service. They brought out a sampling of their different meat dishes over red beans... and rice so we could try before ordering. Jerk chicken was as good as I had in Jamaica. Will be going back. Read more
Jamaican Spice has elevated Morgantown?s restaurant game. We ordered a jerk chicken salad, curried chicken, beef patties,... steamed cabbage, red beans and rice and Jamaican festival cornbread. All fantastic. We are looking forward to trying the goatcurry and oxtail. Thank you to the owners and chefs at Jamaican Spice for giving the community authentic, delicious food. This is my favorite food in Morgantown ???????? I have to get some food here almost every week because it tastes so authentic... and reminds me of momma?s cooking; they put their heart & soul into this food. 10/10 definitely would recommend to all myfriends and family.
