My absolute favorite diner in the area. I take all of my friends and family here whenever they visit North Carolina. I just... love the environment, the prices, and the quality. We've eaten here three times on our vacation and have been so excited to eat it that we keep forgetting to take photos. We first... tried this place for dinner and it was good then, not great, but we decided to give them a try for breakfast. That is where theyexcel - both with the food and the service! Our waitress was fun, attentive, and great at her job. This is probably the bestpart of the dining experience because good service is no hard to come by these days. Wow what a great find! This is where the locals go to eat. We walked in and sat ourselves at at table. Our waitress was prompt... and kept our glasses full. The food is AMAZING!!!! Good country cooking and then portion to price size is great. They havedelicious desserts and your meal includes a small dessert. I plan on going back and having breakfast as that's what we havebeen told. If you are in the area you need to stop in and give them a try you will not bee disappointed!!! Read more

An old style family owned restaurant. No frills but a very friendly staff (Laney our waitress was so sweet) with a wonderfully,... varied menu. The food was tasty and quite affordable. If you are in Morehead City and want a hearty meal, go to Cox FamilyRestaurant!???? Read more
If you like southern home cooking you owe it to yourself to try this restaurant. The hamburger steak is definitely fresh and... hand formed. The onions seem to be sautéed to some extent before they hit the grill because there was no crunch, just goodonion flavor and perfectly done. The fried okra was lightly battered and crisp. The gravy was the perfect consistency, smooth,rich and savory. The mashed potatoes flawless, well prepared and seasoned. And of course the rolls and hushpuppies weredelicious in their own right but they were also good with the extra gravy. Read more
Great family restaurant with down home cooking. We ate dinner here and then breakfast the next day. You can't beat the prices!... Service was friendly and the vegetable plate was yummy. My mom got the squash casserole and it was probably most favorite thingI tried there. I had the cream chipper beef over toast for breakfast the next day and it was amazing! Although there wasn't any parking out front, we thought they must be crazy busy, which they were. We came out turned right... and then an immediate right. There was another parking lot, you could go in the back door. That was even better. Long storyshort, there were five big rooms that had seating. I'm glad we went in the back door because the room we were in was veryroomy and not too crowded. Prices were awesome, service was fast, food was plenty and delicious and our waitress was veryfriendly. We are in town for a few weeks and will be coming frequently. Our visit was for brunch, we had pancakes, sausage, homefries. Delish. Adding that we stopped for lunch and are very pleased, I took picks this time. I had BLT deluxe, came withCole slaw and French fries for $7, my other half ordered a burger, came with fries n coleslaw. We ordered a side of friedPickles and hush puppies came with it too.
