This is my first stay at a Bed and Breakfast and was really looking forward to experiencing all it had to offer. Unfortunately,... the pub and restaurant was not open and was not communicated on their website nor in person when making reservations. So we weregiven $10 cards to use at the restaurant across the street. The A/C did not cool. The bed was hard. There?s no refrigerator ormicrowave for you to use which would have been nice to have since their restaurant and pub was not open. The owners seem likereally great people, but I do think there are some real opportunities for them to make this a genuinely nice place. Read more

Let me start by saying I was basing my decision to stay on other reviews which included the restaurant that was part of the Inn.... I understand that, unfortunately, the chef will very ill but this should have been communicated during the reservation process. It was nice to have the inn to ourselves, my husband and my son and his fiance but that's where the niceness ends. It issummer and it is hot! The aging AC units were turned on moments before we arrived and the manager, who met us there promised itwould cool off. It did not! We were very uncomfortable and of course I felt bad because I chose the inn for our stay. When I explained the situation to the manager as we were leaving, (as soon as we could get out of there) she thanked me for bringing itto her attention and said she would get back to me with a possible adjustment. I called her later that afternoon and she saidshe had forgotten to show us a button that would have made the units work better and thanked me because NOW she would rememberto show the next guest. Really?? A premium price for those rooms and we were miserable?? Sorry but a couple of bottles ofcomplimentary water will not win us over. I'll take a hotel room with a working AC any time over that. home was so warm when wearrived as the host had just turned on the Read more

My husband and I stayed at the Inn at Montross for 2 nights over Memorial Day weekend to celebrate our anniversary. We love the... area of Colonial Beach/Montross/Westmoreland State Park, but had never stayed at the inn before. We absolutely loved it and wewill definitely stay here again! The inn was very welcoming--we loved relaxing in the upstairs sitting room and on the frontporch. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious! The room and bathroom were very clean and comfortable. Wow; finally a quaint Inn with a fantastic sports bar / Pub (downstairs) and a great fireplace cozy finer dining experience... (upstairs) with a tucked away private bar, too. Great food / menu and Sunday buffet you must try. Very reasonable prices andfriendly Mgmt. and service staff aiming to please the customer! I can't wait to recommend the rooms for our traveling friends tothe area especially with the super food services, on site. The Inn is under new ownership and is a hidden treasure, you mustcheck out! We can't wait to return - Fred Howe, Colonial Beach, VA. Read more

I stayed at the Inn at Montross this past weekend and the whole experience was wonderful. The staff go above and beyond to make... your stay comfortable and the food was exceptional. I've visited many restaurants in the DC area whose menu doesn't hold acandle to the Inn's menu. The chef is classically trained in French cuisine and everything I ordered was delicious. The Inn isconvenient to several Virginia wineries, so if you're looking for a weekend retreat (away from the hustle and bustle of thecity) the Inn at Montross is the perfect place. I highly recommend the Inn at Montross to anyone in Virginia that appreciatesquality food, great wine, and quiet get-aways. Read more
