Edit: I guess I should be more clear... I grew up in New York City, the land of beautiful bagels and have been a pastry chef my... entire adult life. This is not a wonderful bagel, it is not close. You will not convince me otherwise. The most authentic thingabout this bagel is you all being defensive about it like a New Yorker instead of taking the constructive criticism and offeringyour customer kindness to their review. I have been on a mission to find a reasonable bagel anywhere on the Western slope forweeks. I assumed that a place that does not even make bagels would knock it out of the park. They did not. Loved it here, the bagels are SO chewy and tasty. The staff are also super friendly.
We came across this place on our way to Colorado Springs and we?re glad that we did. They had the Best bagel sandwiches we have... had for a while. They have so many options and you can customise and build your own too. Staff was really helpful and patient.Their coffees and drinks are amazing as well. They have plenty of items for vegetarian and vegan diet as well. Read more

We were driving through Montrose and needed a light lunch so we popped into Backstreet Bagel Co. The bagels were fresh and the... quality was excellent. The bagel with lox is a must have, if you?re a lox lover like me. They also had truly excellentespresso. It was much better than most and comparable to what you?d find in a good European café. What a pleasant surprise thatwas! The little private patio in the back was a perfect place to nosh in the shade. If I lived anywhere near Montrose, I?d be aregular. Read more

This entire establishment is so chill and friendly, and the food tasted great. There were many vegetarian options, the coffee... was great, and the smoothies even better. Would definitely return. There aren't many great options in Montrose, but this placeis an exception. Read more
