Reviews for Basin 141 in Montrose, CA
Food was yummy, had a delicious Moscow mule there and the atmosphere was nice. However, the service left something to be... desired. We were largely ignored most of the time we were there even when we were trying to get our check. Read more
The food isn't spectacular, but it's great for bar food. Don't expect fine dining here. It's a bar! But it's OUR neighborhood... bar. The cocktails are fantastic and the bar has almost ingredient you could need. They seem to have a really good beerselection, but I'm not into beer these days so I don't know firsthand. Most importantly, the staff is always super nice, evenwhen they're busy...and this place gets really busy. This is my favorite place overall in Montrose because I can go here foralmost any occasion. And if you're looking for a place to watch sports, they have large TVs behind the bar. Read more
BRING YOUR ID. This place is 21 and over. I didn?t see it advertised anywhere, but they will not let you eat there if you don?t... have your ID. Even if you are not drinking. Hope they will put that somewhere visible on their website. Went during brunch. Thebrioche French toast was honestly so delicious. The chicken and waffle was good, but the French toast was way better. Greatfood, great menu. Read more
As a non-drinker, I love coming here with my husband who enjoys a beer every now and again. They have one of the best nachos in... town! Read more
We had a good, but not perfect, experience at Basin 141 in our first time visiting this cute part of Montrose. We were seated... right away on a Saturday night a little after 6 though had to sit at high tops as all of the more comfortable booth seating wasoccupied. The cocktail menu is impressive with its many creative options. I had the Weissen Sour which was a really well-mixedrefreshing cocktail that was not on the dryer side (ie not sweet.) There are tons of delicious and unique cocktails to try ontheir menu and I definitely want to come back and try more. We're vegetarians and were excited to see many options available ontheir dinner menu including 3 different vegetarian tacos. (Truffle Mushroom, Sofrito Taco, and Potato [the Sofrito is alsovegan]). My wife and I actually both ordered the taco plate with the same 2 tacos - one Sofrito and one Potato. It was cool thatyou could mix and match your tacos so you could try more than one on the plate...as well as add more than just the 2 that camewith the plate. Both of these tacos were delicious...the Sofrito came in a handmade tortilla...it actually fell apart (thetortilla) as soon as I picked it up so I had to eat that one with a fork. It was good and had a nice spice to it....the potatotaco was crispy shelled...it was yummy and among the more flavorful potato tacos I've had. The tortilla chips it came with werehouse-made, so yay for that, but they were definitely over-fried...browner than they should have been on both our plates so notas fun to eat. Also for vegetarians are a Pub Pretzel, Charred Cauliflower, Truffle Mac and Cheese, an artisan cheese plate, abunch of sides and salads as well. So If you're vegetarian, or vegan, or gluten-free, you will not go hungry here. We liked ithere and would definitely come back for more drinks and to try the other things to eat. Would have been 5 stars if the chipsweren't overcooked and my taco had not fallen apart upon first touching it. Something to strive Read more

We went to Montrose for shoes, an impromptu haircut (hubby) and breakfast! We found parking in a city lot in front of Anawalt... lumber and started walking up Honolulu. The shoe store Walk this Way was open already but we wanted food. As we were walking Isaw someone eating from a cast iron skillet and I say that looks good. The response was it is and I look at the store front andrealize we are at Basin 141 . Sorry for the delay in finishing my review but my entrée at The Whole Enchiladas was served. It wasn?t that warm outside so we elected to eat inside, This location is more like a tavern like. The one in Monrovia is morefamily, large group oriented. I have been to both. So it was Sunday and we were here for Brunch! They have BottomlessMimosas (Some Orange Juice mostly sparkling wine). I am not a Mimosa fan so I had the Basin Rita. My husband had water (someone has to be able to drive home) Also he wanted to have room for his large Pure Dark Chocolate Ice blended with 2 shotsfrom CBTL. He had the Cinnamon Cream French Toast The food looked and smelled delicious. I love the smell of cinnamon. I hadthe Brioche French toast an extra side of bacon and a side of crispy potatoes .No leftovers we ate everything. I enjoyed mycocktail and decided to stop at one . Will we come back yes. Would we bring friends or family yes. Read more
Tacos are not terrible but not great. Not a ton of flavor. Chicken wings were somewhat tasty. Overall, I think food is mediocre... at best though I have had a solid burger here in the past. Decent beer selection helps and overall vibe is low key and chillwhich is nice. Like the big tables that work well for larger groups. Staff overall pleasant too. Read more
