Reviews for Restaurant Mastard in Montréal, QC
We enjoyed an inventive five course meal and wine pairing in Mid October. The service was excellent by a team of servers who are... bilingual. Each plate is small but carefully prepared with surprises hidden under sorrel or basil leaves. We had a mix ofdelicious plates; white beans perfectly cooked with ham, duck breast, ocean trout and a sunflower cake. We enjoyed it verymuch. The wine pairing covered the globe. Most were good but not all paired perfectly like the honey one at the end. Overall itwas a great experience. I would return. Read more
The food and service are absolutely stunning. We did the five course tasting menu with wine pairing. We could not have been more... thrilled. Each course was beautifully plated, unique and delicious. The wines were also unique and complimented the coursesextremely well. Don?t hesitate to try this restaurant and I would highly recommend the tasting menu for your visit to get agreat sense of what this chef and staff are all about. Read more
What an amazing discovery! My friend has been to this restaurant twice before and decided to bring me there for my birthday. We... had the tasting menu and she got the wine pairing as well. Everything was executed to perfection. The blend of flavours (andwith interesting and original blends too!) was excellent and the level of salt was on point. Service was excellent. Woulddefinitely go back! A special mention on the bread they serve, from Blés de pays. It was very good and I asked for an extraserving ???????? Read more
Wow... Just wow! We had the tasting menu and everything was divine. We were enjoying every single bite. A heaven for... foodies! Service was exceptional and the atmosphere was quite enjoyable. I strongly recommend this restaurant. From what I'veseen, the tasting menu has different plates than the "À la carte" menu. As a first-time visit, you should try the tastingmenu. I will definitely come back. Read more
Service was excellent. Chefs bring out each dish and explain what?s what. Utensils are changed between each course. Staff tries... hard with their English which is appreciated. What a gem! Tasty, creative and filling food with friendly service. We took the tasting menu ($75 pp) and the wine pairing with... it. There?s lots of restaurants with hype, ok food and you end up paying $100+ and still not full at the end of the day. Thisplace is not of those. Honest food, good ambiance, 5-stars. Bravo. Read more
Wow. This is one of the best restaurants, if not the best, I tried. The food is absolutely fantastic and dishes are so creative... (think mushrooms with sunflower oil and algae). Food is filling so I recommend 2-3 dishes per person. Prices are high butdefinitely worth the splurge. What really stands out is that the chef comes and explains each dish at the table when serving.Service is good. Ambiance is nice. This is a real hidden gem and up and coming restaurant in Mtl. I cannot wait to come back. Read more
The carte blanche was spectacular. Since this was a relatively new restaurant, I did not know what to expect. However, the menu... was expertly crafted. Jayson, the bartender, was very knowledgable about wines and the dishes themselves. The best dish was thefatty pork and eggplant pictured below. The dish that needed the most improvement was the scallop and cauliflower. I found thatdish to be slightly too overpoweringly buttery. Read more
