The band is good. Drinks and ambience also good but I don't like being confronted and demande to tip 15% for the cover charge... which was $30 added on to the drinks price. Cover charge shouldn't need to be tipped as there is no service provided. If youthink the cover charge should be more then charge more so I know what I'm getting into. The bartender was just the owner anywaysso I don't see why he needs to be tipped if he owns the place.... He also asked in a rude and demanding tone. Read more
Cool dark place with a nice jazzy underground ambiance. They have live music everyday and an interesting food and drinks menu.... The bands are generally diverse and professional. Usually, the cover charge is about 12-25$ per head. Only drawback is thatthey add the cover charge to your food/drink bill and demand to be tipped on the cover charge as well, which is a bitdisappointing. Just increase the price of the entrance fee by 15% and do not demand tips on these fees. Read more
What a wonderful night, Mondays with Alex Bellegarde Latin Jazz Quartet. The service was great, authentic servers who care about... you. The menu is simple but creative. The T-Bone steak was huge so it?s definitely worth the price. Wine suggestion was perfect.I can?t even describe how great the energy of the musicians was, they include you in their positive vibes, make you sing, dancein your seat. Jazz bar with the best local (occasionally international) jazz. Check website for listings. The food is amazing. I had the tuna... tataki and it is top class. Drink menu has good selection of whiskeys and gins. Read more
Large, tasty portions! We split a plate and had a couple of drinks. Walked away full. The server expertly attended all patrons.... This is a must-visit bar for good service and food. We loved the jazz music too. Beautiful saxophone performance. Read more
In general, all in the table agreed on giving 3.5 of 5 points. The service, good. The waiter, of course, gently pushes you to... order food... it is his job ????. The food we ordered was good but nothing special and a little bit expensive for the qualityand for very common tastes. Concerning the jazz, first I have to say that we don?t know too much about jazz, we are justamateurs who like certain styles of jazz more than other. That night during the show we saw a lot of happy faces who seemed tobe enjoying the music. In our case, we didn?t like the style, it was too quiet for us. If we would come again? Considering thatyou pay a cover of $15/person, for the show and because of quality and prices of food the answer is... maybe but only to takesome drinks with one or two tapas and to listen to a different group. Forget the jazz, go there for the food! Steak was absolutely amazing. Quite possibly the best steak I?ve had in my life. I?m... pretty cheap but i?d go back every week and pay the $40 to eat it again?also go there for the jazz. Read more
