Stopped in on the way from Burlington to home in the Cape and Islands. Incredible! Vermont onion soup - amazing. A lot of... flavor layers. Clearly made with a lot of love. Tomato soup and grilled cheese. Super tasty. Hearty style soup - again clearlymade with love. Hot wings - crispy, homemade sauce that was complex and some good back end lingering heat. Loved them. So goodthat we dug in before taking pics - these two were what was there when we paused. Terrific service. We were greeting warmly andprofessionally by Rachel who took great care of us. Read more

First time visiting this place, and unfortunately we were very disappointed. Not sure if they were just having an off day, or... short-staffed, or what. It was not that busy yet. We stood at the hostess stand for a couple of minutes before someoneacknowledged us. We sat at the bar and ordered beer and food. Bartenders were friendly and grabbed our beer right away. Wehonestly waited at least 30-40 minutes for our food. No one came to update us on our food either. Our meals finally came outand everything looked great. I had the buffalo fried chicken sandwich with fries, and my wife got a salad. Fries were cold andstale, and the fried chicken was barely warm, and it was also a small piece of meat. My wife?s salad was okay but the croutonswere very stale. It?s always confusing when you wait so long for your food, and it seems like it sat for awhile. Unfortunately, I would find somewhere else. Great gastro pub with large selection of draft beer. The food options are all good, the buffalo chicken sandwich was delicious.... The cod cake sandwich was also very good. Great spot in the heart of downtown Montpelier. Read more

Three Penny has leveled up on their cuisine! The menu is creative, diverse, and much more vegan welcoming. The service is... attentive and friendly. The safe outdoor dining is very pleasant. Standouts on our visit: Crispy Chickpeas, White Gazpacho, theCharred Vegetable Salad & Farmer's Salad (with black bean cakes added), and those Tater Tots, whoa. Vegans, vegetarians, andomnivores in our party were very satisfied and plan to return. Read more

There?s a ton of beer options at this dark, cozy spot. Came here for lunch on a Monday around 1pm and were seated immediately.... Note that the Yelp checkin for two stickers isn?t valid. Indoor dine-in only (no outdoor options available). Credit cards areaccepted. There one gender neutral restroom in the restaurant side, and another in the bar side. Family friendly and they dohave high chairs. Food-wise, they have shareable plates and the ingredients are local. The mushroom carbonara was a bitdisappointing as the sauce was really watery, but the pretzel rolls were to die for. The steak and cheese sandwich comes with agood amount of fries and is easily splittable between two people. Finally, the charred vegetables added some nice fiber to themeal, although there wasn?t actually any goat cheese in our dish. The service was friendly. Overall, it?s a relaxed spot toenjoy a drink and split some food. Read more

Stopped by Montpelier for lunch on our way back to NYC from Stowe. This place stuck out the most out of all the eateries. Craft... beer list is INCREDIBLE. The bartender made us a kombucha cocktail with vodka that was super refreshing, as we wanted a hardbooch. Both the server at the front and the bartender were very welcoming and nice. The food was also great. They had the bestmost buttery pretzels Ive ever had. Everyone loved their food from the vermont onion soup (basically french onion but beefier),to the chicken wings and burgers. My Steak sandwich was a little underwhelming though compared to everything else. Read more

Oh my goodness this place is amazing!! We came here twice on our short trip to the area. Had to come back a second time because... it was so good. We loved the steak and cheddar sandwich, ordered it twice. The pretzel bites were incredible also. The beerselection was superb and the food out this world!! We wish we had time to come back a third time. Read more
