My husband and I live around the corner from the current location of Brother Bruno's. Our last two experiences with ordering... from here will remain our last. The penultimate time we ordered takeout was right after we moved into our new house. We orderedfor a large group and when my husband went to pick up the order the staff helping him was very rude, enough so that we had nointentions of giving them our business anymore. On top of that our guest's order, who is a vegetarian, found a chicken bone inher pasta sauce (heads up vegetarians I don't think their sauces are for you!). Now a little more than a year later and againstour better judgement we placed a takeout order again. We tried to order 2 large pies, one Hawaiian and one plain, and a salad.The man who answered the phone to take the order was very short with me on the phone and didn't understand I was trying to ordera Hawaiian pizza, but when he realized what I was asking for said they don't make Hawaiian pies. I ended up just ordering alarge plain pie and the salad. My guest went and picked up the order, but when he returned the pizza we got must have been asmall, it was definitely not a large! I'm sure we got charged full price though. The salad had a lot of water in it which leakedeverywhere and though I asked for Bleu cheese dressing we were only given Italian. I called to order a large pizza and they said they don?t make them. Strange being as it?s a Italian restaurant but anyway. The... guy told me they have medium size so I decided to go with it. When I picked it up, it was about the size of a personal pizza.Very small. I ordered as soon as they opened so I know they were not busy yet and somehow my pizza still managed to stay in theoven to long and got burnt. Burnt crust ruins the entire pizza. We ended yo throwing it out since it wasn?t even edible. I gavea generous 3 stars because I?m hopeful it was only the pizza they can?t cook right. Read more

This was a very nice Italian restaurant in Monticello. The service was wonderful and the waitress was kind. The food was... excellent and the place had a beautiful backyard. My friends and I stopped in for a quick lunch and enjoyed it very much. Iwould recommend this place. It?s a great place for a family or with friends. The pizza is one of the best you will find inthe upper Hudson Valley. Give the place a try, you will be glad you did. Read more
Idyllic gem deceptively hidden behind seemingly permanent roadside construction. Family owned and operated, and recently... relocated from a location in Monticello. Now Brother Bruno's is nestled next to the Mongaup Creek with placid views to the same.Food -- appetizers, entrées and desserts are exquisite. Waitstaff efficient and friendly. Prices very fair. Facilities wellmaintained, including clean bathrooms. Full bar upfront. Ample parking in the front. On September 8th, 2020 the Sullivan CountyLibertarian Party hosted Larry Sharpe at this location.
