What a happy place! Efficient, nimble, no nonsense service with fresh ingredients. After a warm generous greeting, you can... expect, Johnny-on-the-spot, hot coffee refills with a smile. The crepes are made over a several hour process by Jackie herselfusing freshly churned butter milk. Worth the stop and I would gladly add "worth the wait", but not necessary since the staffis so speedy. 5 stars! Read more

Brick House Eatery was delightful in every possible way. The staff greeted us as we entered, including the owner, Jackie, who,... by the way, is the reason the entire establishment feels like the perfect sun-shiney day even though it was pouring rain the daywe stopped in. The food was delicious. I got the Cobb Salad with homemade Bleu Cheese dressing; my mom got the Chicken Tendersand Cole Slaw; and my 15 yo son got a Bacon Cheeseburger with French Fries. All of it was fantastic. We also tried the funnelcake fries. Oh. My. Goodness. Sublime. What stands out the most, though, is still the sweet owner's love for the Lord. It justexudes from her and is impossible to ignore. We were passing through Monticello at lunchtime, and I chose Brick House because ofthe other positive food reviews and the way reviewers described Jackie and the way she lives her faith. I figured between thetwo, it would have to be a wonderful lunch. And it was. The next time I'm driving through Monticello, I hope it will be on aSunday so I can have the Crepes! Read more

Just went back yesterday and want to add that is was so tasty and the staff was friendly and quick! If you haven't tried it, you... should. They do close at 2pm, so make plans for lunch! We've eaten at the Brickhouse many times over the years and a fabulouslyenergetic young woman bought it in the spring of 2021. The menu didn't change much and neither did the taste of the food. However the ambiance is more vibrant and loud to match the new owner's vibrant and bubbly personality. It was about 1.30 whenwe arrived and there were a couple tables open. We had to wait for a bit before the owner/waitress took our drink order. Then ittook twice as long as that to actually get our drinks. The rest of the room was filling up and she's a bit scattered. Wefinally got our drinks and she took out food order. They brought us fried nuggets of ham, cheese, and potato. It was yummy!!Look for those as an appetizer!! Hubby got the Philly sandwich and I got the fried green tomato grilled chicken sandwich. Botharrived HOT ????! My fried green tomato wasn't quite as crispy as last time but the sandwich was delicious. It was a bit messytho, so you will need extra napkins. Hubby's Philly was also hot and delicious. The fries were smaller this time and were adisappointment to me. They were hot, but I prefer more potato in my fry. Hubby ate all of his though. Overall, it's a greatlocal restaurant with a heartfelt staff. We will return and if you are nearby at lunchtime, please give them a try. Read more

This was our first trip to Monticello and we can honestly say that Jackie?s was a highlight of our trip. From the second we... walked in the door, we felt like we were home. From Jackie?s infectious smile and energy, her sweet staff, and the ?regulars?who made us feel like family, to the super fun karaoke Friday night to the yummy breakfast Sunday morning everything wasPERFECT. The fish sandwich was one hands down of the best we?ve ever had. And then caprese salad was fresh and the balsamicglaze was delicious. For brunch, our omelets were stuffed with delicious veggies. And you can?t go wrong with the funnel cakesand fresh from the oven chocolate croissants. We cannot wait to visit again! Read more

A great little breakfast restaurant in a cute little town. Our orders were cooked perfectly! Some of the most amazing hash... browns I've ever eaten, crispy outside and soft, buttery inside. It's not too far off of I-10 and definitely worth the stop Read more

This restaurant is TRULY a hidden gem, I mean that. I'm a huge breakfast lover and I came here on a Sunday and had an absolutely... fantastic time. The name of this restaurant is really quite modest for how fantastic it is. The service is just incredible. Wewere seated quickly (and even got to choose which table, which I always appreciate) and our server was very warm and helpful.Promptly brought our coffee over. Then, a woman who I assume to be the eponymous Jackie came to our table and took our order. She sat down like a guest at our table and took our order with care. Because it was a Sunday they were offering brunch, and sheexcitedly relayed all the special offerings for the occasion. She is an amazing saleswoman, I'll say that! She gestured to somebeautiful chocolate chip croissants and boasted that they had just come fresh out of the oven. Next, she said that she handmakesthe brunch-special crepes herself and enticed us with promises of Nutella, strawberries and blueberries. It soundedirresistible! We ordered them and they were so incredible, just as she described them. Everyone at the other tables stared andwas jealous, as she showed off the beautiful, literal 'silver platter' that she had finely plated the crepes on, even taking thetime to add whipped creme and powdered sugar! We had a veritable feast before us as we also ordered the country fried steak withsausage gravy, and hashbrowns. All incredibly delicious! The hashbrowns get a special mention for being incredibly crispy andperfectly browned! We also ordered fried green tomatoes - My boyfriend enjoys them, I myself had never had them before. I mustsay, I'm a fried green tomato lover now! They even came with a side of what must have been homemade herbed ranch, it wasunmistakably fresh and delicious. The atmosphere was 'down home' and comfortable, a quiet diner sort of aesthetic with acounter with stools, half booths, and sturdy wooden tables. Laid back, jazzy, classical music was playing at a Read more
