I had a Meat and 3 meal. Fried chicken fried okra, sweet potatoes and greens. Found myself here with a coworker after a stop by... another spot along the way. Luckily for us we had talked and gotten options prior to lunchtime adventures. It is kind of hiddenin a museum. But glad we engaged locals prior to lunch. Our food was pulled fresh from the grease and with very little draintime... so yes, it was hot and fresh still once I maneuvered to the cashier and onto the table. I open the tray to let it airout a bit while I mixed my drink... P.S. get the Kool aid if you can handled the sweetness... I mixed tea and lemonade(My usualdrink when out) and I was good to go. Had a great lunch and ate enough to keep me full but not needing a nap afterwards. Read more

This place was really amazing. They cooked us fresh pork chops and chicken wings. The food was great the servers were friendly... and I would go here again for sure. The prices were decent. It?s not outrageously high. To top it all off the bathrooms wereclean. If I had to give one negative the table we went to wasn?t cleaned off but honestly for a cafeteria style eatery it wasgreat. Convenient place to stop and grab a bite in between visiting The Legacy Museum and National Memorial for Peace and Justice.... Affordable southern cooking. Cafeteria style. Decent sized portions. Since the weather was nice, we were able to take advantageof the outdoor seating. (I thought it was weird how the museum next door was so clean and pristine yet your shoes get stuck onthe floor here from how sticky the floors are. Guess a different cleaning crew?) Read more

Not impressed. Collard greens and yams taste like they came out of a can. Collard greens had no flavor. Chicken was OK. I only... stopped here to eat because it?s part of the legacy museum. I wish I would?ve gone somewhere else. Read more

I was in town for the weekend, staying close by. I visited based on the recommendation of my hotels staff. I was definitely... disappointed. First and foremost the food isn?t hot at all. It?s barely warm, which completely killed the Catfish for me. Thechicken was a tad salty and barely warm. I trashed the Mac n cheese completely, that should tell you how I felt about that. Thecabbage left a lot to be desired. I was expecting more in South as far as Soul-food. I was very disappointed. The price overallwouldn?t have been bad, if the food was good. Since it wasn?t, it was definitely $18 down the drain. As I trashed more food, than I ate. Maybe I came at a really bad time. (4:30pm) Read more
