It was ok. I have yet to find a really great Italian place in the area. I thought the bolognese tasted like Asian food. It had a... very weird taste. It was a very thin sauce and the flavor was odd and unappealing. I was very disappointed. I don't understandmessing up sauce either.... it is supposed to be simple, fresh ingredients and yet, most restaurants in the area cannot seem tomake good (never mind great) sauce. Maybe I'm spoiled coming from Brooklyn, but how can not one place master sauce? Read more
The service was great. The staff was friendly. The food looked and tasted like it was prepared in advance and just warmed up on... low heat. Pasta was ben cotta, potatoes were dry, pasta sauce was watery, roasted vegetables were mush. Truly wonderful. The staff are so nice and lively and the bread is so warm and fresh. Ordered the arancini, breaded chicken... sandwich, and the semifreddo for dessert. Everything was good and dipped the bread in the yummy arancini sauce. The dessert wasalso perfectly sweet. Oh and the chips that?s come with the sandwich are something else. Excellent family-owned spot in a tiny location on beautiful Church Street. Good for takeout or dine in their lovely outdoor... space during good weather. OnIy 2-3 tables inside but very cute and could work for a weeknight date. BYO as with most ofMontclair but with Amanti Vino right there you will be good. I take clients here on nice days for lunch. Also always good soupand bread, as well as homemade pasta. I am veg and they are great to accommodate and suggest alternatives to meaty menu items.Highly recommend! Read more
Lovely spot of a nice dinner or desserts. Personally, stopped in for a quick (oatmilk) cafe latte which was very good and really... loved the texture of the interior which is more kitchen or pick up areas. The alfresco dinning was very packed which is alwaysa good sign ???????? Read more
Amazing food and staff. Unfortunately I?m not a coffee drinker, but the food was really really good. I was able to tell just... from looking at the gnocchi pesto that it was only high quality fresh ingredients on the plate. Really flavorful pesto, and thegnocchi was perfection. Our server recommended we try the panna cotta for dessert. it has a balsamic reduction over the top withfresh sweet berries. I don?t even like whipped cream but this whipped cream is actually good and not out of a can. They don?tskip any steps at all. It?s easy to tell that this place seriously cares about their food, their heritage, and their customers.5 stars easily. Well done Read more
Cafe Giotto has truly phenomenal food and also service. I order delivery often and they are not only on time but frequently add... something extra to my order - a dessert, a muffin for the next day. Not every time, but here and there, when I imagine they haveextras on hand ? not at all necessary but such a nice surprise. Their delicious food and their service make you feel cared for. Read more
