We initially were looking for a place for a night while we decide what we wanted to see & do on our vacation. The moment we... walked into the room, we fell in love! The next morning we decided to stay another night since it was convenient to the placeswe were visiting. The front desk offered us a room on the second floor for the same rate as the first floor with a much betterview and more space! We stayed a third day!\nSuperb hospitality and location. Positive: Location/Ocean proximity. Clean. Spacious. Ambience. Lots of amenities. Check-in girl friendly. Definite hotel choice... for Half Moon Bay/ Montara Beach. Overall, loved the hotel. Will book again. Negative: Fireplace/Keurig didn\'t work. Atcheck-out informed staff fireplace remote was missing/ unable to use & she said \"IT DOESN\'T WORK\" & maid service responsiblefor Keurig malfunction reporting. Our stay here was amazing. The view was awesome. The Oceanview was beautiful. The rooms were clean. The food was awesome.... Please try the Shrimp and Grits I felt I was back in the south they were that good even better ????????. We will definitelyreturn. Read more
The reviews were correct - this was an excellent hotel. From the time I called for availability Angela was very pleasant and... accommodating. We wanted to stay 3 nights and it was only possible if we switched rooms after 2 nights but then we were sopleased we ended up staying 4 nights! Rooms very clean, beds great- comfy pillows, bathroom spotless, great location. Christineand Angela were both very helpful during our stay. No breakfast but free coffee/tea 24/7. Restaurant next door gives 20%discount for hotel guests. Hotel may be a tad dated - we found it homey! Read more
Hotel 3; location 0\nOur room was well appointed and spacious. It also had a lovely view of the ocean. However, I didn?t know... that Cabrillo Highway (the listed address) and Highway 1 is one & the same in that section. The\nhotel was on the east side ofHighway 1, not the ocean side. The traffic noise was horrendous! That was\ncertainly nothing the hotel could do anything about.But it sure made a difference in our quality of stay.\nWe couldn?t enjoy our shared balcony & even with all the windows closed,the traffic was loud & made it difficult to sleep. Additionally, soundproofing was non-existent between rooms & betweenfloors.\nBesides the ocean view, our view included the decrepit, run-down roofs of the gas station next door & another building.Again, not something that the hotel can change.\nNot a restful, peaceful stay. We arrived four hours early to our hotel so we asked for recommendations of things to do. The receptionist at the front desk was... very helpful sorry I did not get her name. We had a great time with her recommendations. Upon check-in we found our room to be abeautiful clean huge room. We stayed in room 2 which is an attic room. We had a partial Ocean View out of the west-facing windowand also from the balcony outside. Will definitely stay again. Read more
The Ocean View Inn is my new favorite spot. I like the privacy and size of the rooms. I had the opportunity to peek into most... of the rooms during my stay. I have stayed in #3 and #1. If you are there for more than one night, room #1 is the way to go. Theservice is excellent.\n\nMy only recommendation for improvement is better lighting in the bathroom in room #1; it\'s a bitcreepy at night and impossible to do your makeup. Positive: This hotel has been remodeled and is now very open, light, and airy. The location is excellent. The room had a very... high ceiling, comfortable king bed, and lovely bathroom. The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating; the freebreakfast, great! Read more
