Never expected to find this amazing gem out in Monroe. Great food with great presentation, amazing service, really nice setup... with an open kitchen. This is a top notch restaurant where I wouldn't expect to find one. Even in terms of noise levels, it wasloud but we could still clearly hear each other, which speaks volumes (no pun intended) of this place's acoustics. Overall greatexperience. 10/10 will be back. Best restaurant we've been to in years. The food is absolutely amazing with a rotating menu. Very high end and everything... homemade. Bar tenders are experts and will make you anything you want or can think of. The experience atmosphere and service isA+ . Server and bar tender Ben and Blake are 100% worth it. My experience at Lewis and main started off with an eye roll as my father ordered the calamari for the third night in a row at... our 3rd upscale dinner experience. I insisted on the braised beef toast. Both delicious but that calamari was the most uniqueand flavorful I?ve ever had. We each got a different entree and traded bites. All scrumptious. The blackberry lemon cake was abeautiful display of vibrant flavors. Oh and the selection of whiskey with the option to smoke your old fashioned was superb.This place has the big city knowledge, flavor, and service with the small town vibe. Upon walking in you will receive a nice warm atmosphere. The host seated me in the bar area and also proceeded to be my server... as well. I ordered a Bloody Mary. They do not come with a salt rim but the bar tender was nice enough to give this to me. Ihad the Biscuts bacon and Chorizo gravy. And was very very good. The potatoes were so well done and the gravy was onpoint! Great food display and presentation. Server was on point with everything. Overall was a pleasant environment. Read more
We had an extraordinary evening at Louis and Main, an incredible restaurant in Monroe. Our server Ben was humorous, very... informative a mixologist and had an incredible personality. The orders were wonderful and I highly recommend the corn bread.It's like dessert before dinner! We each had something different and it was all fantastic! The wine selection and offer pairedperfectly with the food and the dessert was perfect. I highly recommend Lewis and Maine and will definitely be back again soon. Read more
This is the SPOT Monroe has been needing... just WOW. First of all, the ambiance is romantic, natural and earthy, just the right... feel for a date night or romantic escape. The food is 100% stand alone and doesn't need any dressing up, but these guys don't doanything half way! Our waiter Will has been attentive, helpful and his recommendations have been top notch. Our chef came tovisit the table when we had a question about the preparation which was charming and very customer centric. The plates arrivedlovely and portions were very reasonable, if not ample. If you are in need of a cocktail, Blake will have your jaw on the floor,but only long enough for you to get every FANTASTIC drop of his signature drinks. "Nanas Garden" is exactly the warm, comfydelight it proclaims to be! I was shocked there was gin hiding in this beauty My ONLY complaint is they only had enough basilto make one of these fiendish temptations! This was the PERFECT place for a date night and while you are definitely payingwhat's due for this experience, the value is there. Wow!! This place is incredible. The ambience is great with the dining area separated into two sections and divided by a wall, so... neither room is too loud. For drinks, I chose sweet with vodka and left the rest to the bartender. I drank the first one beforeI could even snap a photo, but it was topped with slightly charred apples slices that were the perfect detail. The second drinkhad a cream foam that was specialty made and charred at the top like a soufflé- both beautiful! We ordered the calamari for astarter. It was the right amount of crispy and the cheese and light sauce was a great balance between savory and salty. We bothordered steak with a side of lobster tail. Everything was cooked to perfection! I had a Gorgonzola sauce that was to die for.The portions were very generous! We were so full, but decided to take dessert to go! The chocolate mousse was great andperfectly packaged for the drive home. They stayed consistent with their details, even in a to-go dessert, in includingstrawberry slices and strawberry compote along with the mousse and whipped cream. The service was great. We were greetedimmediately and our waiter was very attentive. Our drinks were never empty and he checked in on us multiple times throughout themeal, even with how busy they were for a Saturday night. We came back from Bridal Veil Falls looking for food and searched maps and found this awesome spot. The atmosphere is amazing... love the decorations, lighting and settings in the restaurant. We went during brunch and they had so many great things on themenu we couldn't decided right away and we finally decided on the Biscuit & Gravy w/chorizo and bacon and L&M Benedict. Let metell you both meals did not disappoint us and the biscuit and gravy is a must have especially the gravy. The cornbread is verygood if you don't like sweets tell them hold the honey syrup. I will love to go back and try other items and the dinner menulooks like a hit so I will be back soon. Read more
