I?m sitting here at the restaurant right now writing this review because the food is so disappointing. I?m giving 2 stars... instead if one because the service is good and it?s a cute little restaurant. The food is subpar at best. My boyfriend got thesteak which is voted best in Monroe for the last couple of years. Which I guess isn?t saying much since this is just Monroe, whowere they up against? Quincy?s? Idk who was the judge of that, but it wasn?t a steak aficionado. I could?ve made a better steakat home on the grill. The vegetable of the day is zucchini and it was chopped up into pieces and maybe 2-3 bites. The bakedpotato was kind of in the small as well. I got the shrimp stuffed with and crab and it was decent. The green beans definitelylooked and tasted like canned green beans, I couldn?t even eat them. I also got a side of penne in Alfredo sauce which wasdecent tasting but barely warm. The pineapple hard cider is tasty though. Idk maybe times are hard for restaurants in theseeconomic times. I was just expecting better. Me and my boyfriend will not be coming back here. Read more
What a phenomenal little gem, right in the heart of Monroe! Main St. Bistro is a staple for my wife and I. Great menu, terrific... specials, affordable, friendly and DELICIOUS. Chef is unpretentious and friendly, and open to recommendations. Ironically, aswonderful as his cooking is, one of my favorite things on the menu is the Triple Decker Club Sandwich (Becase no one else aroundoffers them!). The Black Angus burgers are a taste sensation as well. The staff is very friendly and nice too, helping tocomplete the experience. Overall 5 stars for great local fare! Read more
Good experience, friendly service. The food was fresh and quick. Only negative was beer selection as out of several drafts.
The food was good and the prices were fair. The owners were very welcoming and helpful. The server was young lady that treated... us with abig smile and was very helpful and pleasant. I will be back for more. Read more
The food was good but nothing fabulous. The odd thing was that our "starter" arrived at our very small table long after our main... dishes. Had to relocate to another table... weird feeling! It's hard to appreciate an appetizer that way; besides, food got coldbefore we could eat everything. And I won't mention (OK, I guess I will) that some things on the menu were not available andprices were a bit high for the quality. Read more
We so enjoyed eating outside in beautiful historic downtown Monroe and our meal was perfect!! Our salads were fresh and crisp... and the salmon and steak were prepared just like we like them. Cannot give a loud enough shout out to Chef Thomas and theentire Main Street Bistro team. ????????????????????. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience. My husband and I definitely ordered more than we could eat but we couldn't help ourselves. Everything on the menu sounded good.... We ordered the crab stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer and they were delicious. Our favorite part was of course dessert. I gotthe banana foster and the hubs got an ice cream sandwich. Incredible food - we will definitely be back. Found our new datenight place! Read more
The staff was great but the food was just sad. I ordered a fillet but have no idea what under seasoned cut of beef came out. The... vegetable that was on the special board was just chopped up unsalted zucchini. I do not suggest this place. Read more
