Tiramisu was really good. Baklava was amazing. Both entrees were very good. We had a young male server, I can't remember his... name, but he was friendly, and fast. I've had hit or miss visits in the past (usually server related, not food), but now,everyone we came in contact with was amazing. Oh! The female hostess with short hair with shave lines. Family birthday celebration dinner. Server was very friendly and accommodating. We were a party of 5 ..3 came later. The 2... were sat right away and we ordered drinks. Was a lovely dinner even with the chicken breast extremely over done and tough in myMarsala. The birthday person didn't want the typical servers " birthday " song. I came to Monroe to visit my sister who is I?ll. She suggested I order out because of the selection and it was nearby. I made... sure that I told the person that took the order I would be 25 minutes. It took less than 5 minutes to get back home. Both of ourmeals were so over cooked that you couldn?t eat any of it. I called and spoke to the manager and she said as long as the foodwasn?t touched she would be glad to replace it. Well how would we know if the food wasn?t good if we didn?t attempt to eat it. Iasked if I could speak with the owner and she said that she was as high as I would get. That my attitude was bad and theconversation was over. Well Ms. Manager, We both know that I am not the only person who has been disappointed with the qualityof food at your establishment. Maybe you should consider getting another job because you are high! if you think your food isgood quality. No I don?t recommend this place to anyone save your money $40.00 mistake. Read more

This place came highly recommended but did not meet my expectations. I was seated promptly but it took almost 20 minutes to be... waited on. I ordered medium rare prime rib but came out well done. Waitress never came back to the table but another lady waskind enough to get me more tea which I had run out of way early on. Vegetables were cold and again the second lady got themreplaced but they came after I finished eating. Then waited to pay and waitress still never came back. Finally went to the frontdesk to pay for my check. Never received a check. Sadly, not a good experience sorry to say. Read more

Came here in my birthday today and did not enjoy not one thing. Ordered a strawberry smashed drink and it a lot of mint and... tasted like lemon peels so I sent it back. So a lady comes up and says they can?t take it back but they can strained it likethat?s going to make the mint go away. Also ordered a shrimp cocktail wasn?t fresh at all. Ordered a burger and bun was burntand barely had any cheese on it. And manager definitely does not have good customer service. Fair to say worst birthday dinnerever. Read more

Not thorough with policies and management is extremely overbearing. I absolutely can not rate this place low enough. My... grandparents came in to book one of the large rooms for my wedding reception dinner. After doing so, they were told that theywould be emailed a menu to select three items for my guests to choose from at dinner. This was no problem and I chose my threemenu items. When I called Hilltop back to let them know what items I had chosen, I mentioned that every family in the partywould pay separately, to which the lady on the phone replied that they do not take separate payments for big parties. I asked tospeak to the manager as we were not told about this prior to making a deposit. When I finally got to speak to her I told herthat no one told us this information PRIOR to them paying a NONREFUNDABLE deposit, we simply would not have booked them had weknown. The manager argued that all policies are online and that my grandparents should have thought to check for policies beforebooking. I asked if we could please receive our deposit back because it is the staff?s responsibility to ensure that customersare aware of policies. After being asked to call back and speak with Dee Dee another day, I was hopeful and hung up thephone. After calling multiple times and not reaching Dee Dee, I walked in to the restaurant and got the same response from her;no refund, no separate checks. She had a very rude demeanor from the beginning of the conversation and only offered a gift cardin place of the refund on the deposit. I explained again that it is their responsibility to ensure that customers know thatthese policies exist. She replied that people assume that hotels have policies, therefore people should assume that when youbook a private room in a restaurant there should be policies as well. Hands down, the best restaurant in Monroe, NC. I?ve never had anything less than delicious from their menu and the owner is... often seen which is impressive. Their prime rib is mouthwatering, tender and flavorful. The stuffed salmon is my favorite dishthere. Great drink options, food was decent. Lobster bisque was more bisque than lobster. Steak was excellent as was the stuff lobster.... Friends full rack of ribs looked a little small for a full rack, but he said they were good. And the garlic mashed taters werebetter than I expected. Get them if you don't know what side you want.
