Reviews for Portico | Monroe in Monroe, LA
I read the reviews before going and was a little skeptical at first. I decided to go anyway and give it a try. Glad I went.... Everything we ordered was good. The Hangry pizza is something we will definitely be back to get. Thr only thing I will say isthe friend Green tomato under my grab cake was a little too thick to my liking but still good and the lemon pepper seasoning onthe shrimp had just a tad too much for me but still good. So I did not want to give 4 stars since we were happy with ourselections. Service was great too! So we will be back! The atmosphere and menu are different than the one in Ruston. Read more
The food was FANTASTIC, the place was very clean, and the service was great! We will definitely be back when we are back in... town. I got the red fish, which was amazing, and my husband got the fried catfish. He has very high standards for his catfishand he was carrying on all day how great theirs was. Read more
I'll never return. This place is dark and the service was awful. The greeter at the door never moved from her position of having... her feet propped up and typing on her cell phone. Our server never came back to check on us. I had to go find her at one pointto ask for appetizer plates and napkins. The table was dirty and the food here is not good. We had a large party so the checkwas very large as well. Our patronage was clearly not appreciated. I didn't complain because I was invited and didn't want theperson who picked this place to be uncomfortable or feel bad. This type of service is a reflection of poor managememt. Read more
I have eaten here numerous times. Today I ordered red beans and rice. It tasted like pure vinegar. The vinegar taste was so... strong it was gagging. I will never order this again. And, unless you like the taste if vinegar you shouldn?t either. $8.00wasted. Read more
The restaurant was extremely dirty, not just not wiped down, I almost couldn't find a table to sit at due to every one covered... in dirty paltes. I requested a burger called the Room, which was tasty and funky definitely something to recommend. Like allstakehouse/B&G burgers it was a bit oversized but definitely an experience itself. Swiss and sautéed mushrooms gave a strongflavor the patty was well salted and was plenty juicy and crusted. Tomato, pickle, lettuce, and bun. Did their part nothing waswasted. Waitstaff was friendly and attentive, and along with the food completely distracted me from the dirtysurroundings. The price was fair and as was a lunch no appetizers, desserts, or drinks were tried. I do look forward to tryinga dinner trip and giving a more rounded review. Read more
Ordered a salad without lettuce just salad toppings only, and they still put lettuce on it. Ordered the chicken pasta and it was... plentiful but it barely had any Alfredo sauce on it so it was basically just chicken and pasta. It was dry I could not eat it.Very disappointed because I was looking forward to it. Read more
Went to Portico for Father?s Day lunch ( Sunday ) with my wife and our two boys aged 8 and 11. Asked to sit near the bar area as... they have high top tables within viewing of several TVs and we wanted to watch the PGA US Open of Golf. We were told no andthat Only on Sundays they reserve the area for adults only. Just seemed Bass Ackward to me myself and I would think that mostestablishments would do whatever within reason to make a guest happy. Just my opinion and i am not perfect by any means. Forthis I leave one star. Read more
Brunch on the patio on any beautiful day is better than brunch indoors anywhere else.
