We walked into the store with one customer waiting for his order and four employees behind the counter. We waited for a number... of minutes without even so much as a hello or acknowledgment and so we just walked out after it got awkward. There was only onecar in the drive-through. Just weird. Snowy winter or sunny summer, Whitey's has been deliciously popular since my earliest memory of the place...around 1957! The... business began in 1933. I include "snowy winter" because it is common in Winter to see waiting lines inside a Whitey's, pluscars lined up surrounding the building for the drive up window. How good must ice cream be for you to wait in line in Februaryin the Midwest? I created my favorite when I worked there at 15-16. Try it: medium or large red raspberry malt, no lid, twoscoops of red raspberries on top. Don't even THINK about eating it as you drive! Read more
Great place and some of the best ice cream and shakes ever!
First trip to Whitey?s did not disappoint. They have a large selection of flavors and toppings. A few in our group have... allergies and they have a binder with a breakdown of what is free from different allergies. Super helpful employees, and thespace itself is very wheelchair accessible. We ordered the turtle sundae and the cup o Joe espresso, both delicious! We hope togo back soon! Read more
