I had been eyeing this location for some time and figured I'd give it a try. Service was excellent and we were there during... what appeared to be a busier time. I ordered the Tonkatsu and my friend ordered the Black Garlic, both at spice level 8. Theramen came in a timely manner too. Everything with both of our orders was amazing and when mixed together, perfectenshlag! TheCharsu was nice and porky, which added more yummy-ness. The Naruto was not the typical one either, it tasted like...real. TheKombu was fresh too. No complaints from either of us and we left very satisfied! Thank you Ramen 101, we will be back. Read more
Wow what a find! There is literally no good place for ramen in the Central Valley, or I I thought so until coming to Ramen 101.... I had the chicken ramen and added tofu + shrimp. It was very tasty, I had it mild spicy and it was just right! We also got twomini meals which come with plenty of food for one person, my husband couldn?t even finish one! Their food is delicious and thetwo girls staff were incredibly friendly with good customer service skills. We will be coming back for more! Read more
I have eaten here on a few occasions. My first visit was ok at best. The food lacked flavor and the broth was not very... developed. However, it has gotten quite a bit better since then. I am not sure what they did, but as time has passed the brothquality and overall food quality has gone up. This is now my go to Ramen spot here in Modesto. Read more
Ramen 101 is located in the Super WalMart parking lot. A small spot with about 8 tables for dine in. I decided to try the Shoyu... Ramen medium spice and my daughter had the Miso Ramen mild spice. My first time trying the Shoyu which is soy sauce based broth,and was surprised to find it was on the bland side. My daughter's Miso was much more flavorful. Nice thick pieces of pork bellyin the Ramen and very good portions served in large bowls. We also ordered Gyoza and Crab Rangoon which were both hot, crispy,and delicious with additional sauce packets for each item. Prices are good for Ramen and they have many other menu itemsincluding Hawaiian BBQ, teriyaki chicken, and lumpia! So even if you aren't feeling Ramen there will be something you can enjoy!I will definitely be back to try the Tonkotsu Ramen and some of the other menu items! Read more
Amazing experience!! 10/10 Staff was super friendly and accomidating for being a such a small location and how busy it was... during dinner and the food was amazing as always and super super fast. Definitely recommend the ***black garlic ramen***[pictureadded] and the Hawaiian bbq mix !! Some times they don't have seating available but they do have a wait list you can be addedon if you walk in. You just CAN NOT call in advance to reserve seating or tables. Definitely a first come first serveplace. Surprisingly!!!!.. for not being an actual restraunt (meaning no specified table servers or waiters/waitresses) [youorder your own food pay and then they seat you like fast food restraunts] the Staff still takes care of you as much as possible.They try to engage with you and make sure your taken care of . The flavor of the food is amazing and it comes out pretty quick.Your eyes Definitely will be bigger then your stomach. The portion of ramen is huge and always have left overs for later. Not very good service, staff could be friendlier. The ramen was good- "not great." The gyoza a little too crispy. The chicken... was tender but too many fatty pieces. It is a good place for a fast eat. I myself am looking for something awesome that has aton of flavor. Read more
This place is incredible! We ordered the Tonkotsu and Black Garlic Ramen with extra eggs, both spicy! I?m so happy there?s... finally a great ramen spot in town! This place is the real deal, the broth and toppings taste fresh. I was surprisinglyimpressed with the pork which was perfectly cooked. The restaurant is small and cozy, they played K pop music videos in thebackground which was nice. The service was fast and the workers were friendly. The prices are reasonable! I?ve tried many ramenplaces and this place is in my top 3! I felt spicy was the perfect level for me, it was not burning my mouth and was enjoyableto eat while being super flavorful. First time here and definitely will be back . The menu is small and simple which I like , I got the chicken ramen and it was... everything I?ve been craving.
