Had a wonderful dinner experience. The Steak Frites was prepared perfectly, tender and flavorful and the Frites just right. My... husband’s Pork Chop was outstanding as well. The owner/chef came around to check on us and the wait staff very attentive aswell. Fantastic wine selection too. You won’t be disappointed. Our dinner was epic! The Brussels Sprouts were delicious. Do not be put off by their being prepared with fish sauce. That seems... to add depth of flavor. We ordered the crab and fettuccine and steak frittes main courses. Both were exceptional. If you lovecrab, look no further on the menu. The chef hit it out of the park. Seriously! The various components to this dish and layeringof flavors took this meal to rare heights. My partner's steak was perfectly cooked and presented. I also want to praise the waitstaff. We had excellent service, from the welcome as we entered the bistro to our reluctant departure. This restaurant islocated in the gorgeous, beautifully restored Florence Hotel. Spend time in the hotel lobby just looking at the art decoarchitecture and amazing fireplace. We will be back! Read more
Awesome place to eat or cocktail! Located inside the Florence Hotel building. The lobby is old school Art Deco-beautiful! The... service was wonderful & the food same. We had a salad with apples, honey, nuts & the pork chop. I am not a big fan of pork chopsbut this was the most delicious I’ve ever eaten! The paintings & decor are very cool. Go! You’ll like it! I love this atmosphere. The darker room gives off romantic and cozy vibes. You almost forget where you are when inside because... the setting feels very private. The portions are huge, the wine selection is great, the servers are friendly and the food isprepared with great care. If you have leftovers most heat up really nicely and you get to relive your dinner all over again. Ilove the chill vibe and want to eat here every night. Read more
All I can say is you are missing out! This place is hands down one of the best restaurants I've been to and I'm a traveling... foodie. The ribeye was the best steak I've had hands down and that says a lot. The owner Josh offers exceptional hospitality,fantastic food and a great wine selection. I felt at home. I don't know where to start. How about with the Apple & Honeycomb salad! It was delicate yet full of flavor and ample for the... first course. The wine selection was decent with a broad cross-section of wines which paired well with menu choices. For anEntree, we chose a halibut which was cooked in paper. It was tender and absolutely wonderful. It helps when the chef is anowner. The Main menu offered six delicious well rounded choices and many of the selections rotate on a daily basis. What a joyto sit down, make a choice, order a drink and get on with the evening. This was our first time experience here and with Jazz inthe lobby every other Wednesday, we will be back. Came here right after opening and the service was wonderfully attentive (we all know how new restaurants can be...). It was a... nice feature that one of the owners came around to every table several times during our meal, but felt weird that he neverstopped or spoke to my husband and me. We got the special squash salad that was excellent, and shared 3 shareable plates plusdessert. Mexican, Italian, French, it’s a little eclectic but each dish was done well. I had the Pork Milanese with trout tonnato. (I am a Philistine. I had to ask.) Tonnato is a sauce to keep the pork from... seeming dry. It was flavorful NOT fishy. First of all, this $20 entree is a massive amount of delicious food. If you are diningwith friends, I recommend one of you get this and the others order something else, then share. The chef promised me the base isonly 8 ounces of pork smashed thin to a size which overflowed a large dinner plate. The pork is then fried crispy, generouslysalted with coarse salt, and served with trout tonnato and a side of bitter greens. These folks know how to blend flavors! Iordered the trout tonnato on the side. Then finding it flavorful and not fishy, I slathered it on the cutlets. After each biteor two, I ate some of the bitter greens. To me, fine cooking is like tasteful interior design or a great novel, a mix ofelements I appreciate and enjoy. I just lack the artistic ability to create it myself. I am only in town for a night, so Iwon’t have time to enjoy the rest of the menu. Missoula, you are lucky to have the Second Act Bistro. Read more
