Purchased a small order of oxtail, goat soup and 1 festival. The oxtail tasted off. It tasted more like wash down stew chicken... than oxtail. There was approximately 1 tablespoon of meat that was eatable in the entire meal. it was 95% fat on the bone. Thesoup wasn't the best it didn?t have goat flavour and it was extremely spicy. The festival was good. Why I gave a 1 star. Thecashier was sluggish and she acted as though I was bothering her. When asked questions she barely wants to answer. She wouldjust point when asked a question. Customer service failure on todays Order. Never again. I will add pictures if I can. Read more
Hands down! Best Jerk chicken in the entire peel region and beyond. Been going there for over 15 years and I've been pleased... %99.9 of the time...%.01 is need improvement in customer service skills for some staff. Half chicken dinner is myfavorite...especially with the hot sauce. Can't find this anywhere else and trust me...I've tried. I am over an hour drive awaynow...but I don't mind the drive...it's worth it for me. Read more

If you?re looking for some quick Jamaican food, then Mr Jerk fills the need, though you can find better options out there for... truly authentic food. Having said that, there?s nothing wrong with the food at Mr. Jerk. I?m just saying there?s room forimprovement, but I do have to say their jerk chicken is really good. When it comes to the oxtail, I?ve had better. Overallthough, I?d return for a lunch when I crave some Jamaican dishes. Read more

This place has authentic tasting stuff most of the time. So jerk chicken or pork with rice and peas with oxtail gravy.. ... usually (95%) of the time great. I always check how the chicken looks..I.e. if it's too dry or not well done before. I alsoask for well done pork... since I don't like the fatty pieces. Again, this is where personal preference comes in. Some peoplelike their chicken and meats tender and juicy..some like well done and dry.. so check and order to your preference. I also liketheir salt fish.. again..some pieces have more meat than others.. but its a great accompaniment. Love their snapper.. but Iusually take it home and reheat on small oven or bbq machine..to get the extra crispiness. The customer service at this placewas falling apart a few years ago.. after the original owner passed away (it wasn't great to begin with, some of the staff wereplain rude all the time).. it has improved a lot with the new management. Simple Jerk Chicken, Rice and Peas? absolutely awful. You can tell the chicken had been sitting all day or was from the day... before. Food wasn?t fresh. Not to mention the employees working were beyond rude, unprofessional and have not even the slightestamount of customer service. For those who say this is one of the best places to eat, I?m sorry but you haven?t had good food yetbecause this definitely is not the place. Wouldn?t even give the bones to a dog. Absolutely awful.
