The Best Fish and Chip Shop outside of Scotland. Under new ownership, and I was worried that with the previous British owners... no longer here, that the quality of service and food would fall off. Not a problem at all. Everything was better than ever. Fish and chips were cooked to perfection. The absolute best chips or French fries anywhere. For the past 5 years the only place we'd go for fish and chips. What happened. $50 for 4 small pieces of fish and 2 handfuls of... fries. Sub par quality on fish. 2 small tarter sauces for all that fish. We've gone there always for the excellent food andgood portions. This was a complete rip-off and let down on food. Went to a fish shop and had a meat pie! It was great. 10 out of 10. Big pieces of steak, beautiful gravy, and great pastry! My... wife enjoyed the halibut, and we both had chips which were excellent. We also both had the lemonade and again we both enjoyedit. I should add that the tables were well spaced, with the "covid 6 feet " allowance. All in all a great surprise and anexcellent meal. I have been going to this Fish & Chip shop for many, many years, never a problem, always consistent portions and quality... (excellent). Today we ordered a 1 piece Halibut and a 2 piece Halibut. The 2 piece Halibut has always come in a larger box andhad large chips, but not today! In actual fact the 1 piece Halibut had more chips than the 2 piece! (See photos). I did askabout this as I was perturbed, I was told that they have been giving the 1 piece Halibut more chips! No idea why the size of thebox for the 2 piece is now the same as the 1 piece and the 2 piece has less chips. We live about 5 minutes away and ate as soonas we got home. The chips were ?stale? and cold, the fish was cold. This was the same for both orders. The restaurant has newowners, I don?t know if that is the reason for the change, it has not been like this before. I did see another recent review asI went to write this saying food was cold. In my quest to find the best fish 'n chips around the lower mainland, The Wee Chippie is very solid. Great pricing, great food.... I'd definitely recommend hitting this place up. Not fancy, no frills. Just get what you are expecting. I also ordered the deepfried oysters, I love these things for some reason. Here, they were so-so. I've definitely had better and not something I'd getagain. Drove a good distance to come here, was disappointed they were not offering dine in during this visit.
