Ted Cooks has great BBQ food at a reasonable price. First, their house BBQ sauce is incredible. Sweet, tangy, and with some heat... to it as well (you can specify heat level in the sauce). The half chicken was juicy with great smokey flavor. The ribs had anice dry rub on them and great flavor as well. I also enjoyed the spicy sausage and jojos combo plate. We love Ted Cooks. It's one of our favorite take-out spots. The ribs, sauce and baked beans are amazing. The collards aren't... my favorite and occasionally the ribs are dry....but more often than not everything is awesome. We get the family dinner withextra jos and the big side of baked beans and it feeds our family of four for just under $30. Very reasonable. Read more
This place rocks! They were packed for pick-up yesterday, on Father's Day, but it was well worth the wait. Even though they were... extremely busy, the staff was friendly, helpful and organized. We got the ribs, corn muffins, and potato salad. Everything wasamazing. The medium BBQ sauce was slightly spicy, sweet, acidic and perfect. Ok, here?s the deal, Ted Cooks is the best BBQ spot in the Twin Cities. 90% of the time the ribs a perfect and meaty. However,... there have been times where the product is not the best. Ribs can be fatty sometimes. Tonight I received ribs that were not thebest (fatty). Chopped differently then I?ve seen them for 20 years too. I really hope this is not a new type of rib/productthey?re using? Something was different tonight. I?m still giving Ted?s a 5-star because they usually are the real deal. Whenyou walk in it looks like a run down place, but the food is what matters, and they do it right. I love their sauce too! Read more
Cozy BBQ joint started in 1968. Great selection of ribs and pulled pork and beef. I ordered both the plain (no sauce) pulled... pork and pulled beef. Pulled pork was very good. I would have given 5 stars if the beef was a little more seasoned. I havefamily members that don't like BBQ sauces. That said, when you add their unique hot sauce, it was delicious.
