Excellent place for breakfast, brunch, or lunch. I especially enjoyed the specialty coffee options and the unique variety on the... menu. They even offered an all vegan menu. There are many gluten-free menu items as well.it can get pretty busy but it is wellworth it Read more

The 4 stars are mainly for the food. Our group ordered 4 dishes and all of them were amazing! I especially liked the cabbage... salsa. However, the waitstaff was extremely short and rude. When we stood in line to place our order, there were a lot ofcustomizations available to choose from and the person behind the register behaved as if we were inconveniencing her byordering. After having waited for 50 minutes for our food, when we asked how much longer it would be, the waitress respondedwith a shrug and 'I don't know that' and did not bother following up or checking. I understand that they were swamped at peaktime but that does not excuse the behavior. The excellent food was the only redeeming factor of the whole experience. Read more

I love Modern Times! The building and the way it's decorated is so fun- very warm and inviting! The staff is consistently kind,... and are usually wearing outfits with so much personality. And the food! Not only do they have meat/veg/vegan iterations of Ibelieve the whole menu, they are all delicious and hearty. I love all their salsas and various sauces. Get a cinnamon roll andany of their coffee drinks while there! Read more

Only street parking available. First come first serve outdoor seating and a queue for indoor. Cute spot from the outside. I?m... giving it a one star due to the poor business model setup and lack luster non-vegan food. I ordered the vegan southwest hash andit was fairly good just over priced. My non-vegan companions were unimpressed by the presentation and taste of their breakfastoptions however (they ordered the Back to Basics and the Hash Brown Rancheros). The wait and dining set up for this place is?modern? I guess. If you want to dine in you come in and give your name and then they seat you inside. If you want to eatoutside then you order from the counter, take a number and then go outside and (hopefully) find a seat. I say hopefully becausethere is not guarantee you?ll get a seat before your food arrives since it takes 1hr+ to get anything. We ordered to-go and itstill took that long. I also witness a party of two who arrived before another group of 2 and 4, not get seated first. To me itappears the issue is somewhere in the kitchen setup. Breakfast should not take 1hr+ to make even with a packed house; 30 minmax. Due to it having vegan and non-vegan options it feels like they cook everything as it?s ordered and then clear the grillfor the vegan options. Not efficient in anyway. Multiple grills or batch cooking would cut time down. If your a hipster, gen Zwith no plans for the entire day and money to blow, feel free to frequent this place. I unfortunately wasn?t impressed as I?dhoped to be considering there aren?t many places with a good range of both vegan and non-vegan options for my companions andmyself. I?m the only vegan one so I really try to give places like this a shot. Read more

Modern Times is a classic Minneapolis cafe. I?m obsessed with their fresh food, huge portions, creative dishes, general vibe,... and progressive politics. Everyone who works there is always friendly, and I love how anyone can find something they?ll like onthe menu - vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free etc. It?s an inclusive and cool space with incredible food. Highly recommend. Read more

Some of the best vegan food in the Twin Cities. There are so many awesome options to choose from. The pictured vegan breakfast... burrito is my favorite, and I also love the vegan spicy avocado burger. Super duper highly recommended! ???? Read more
