My husband and I visited Guacaya Bistreaux for a date night and will definitely be back. Beautiful ambiance. Fantastic food and... delightful spins on classic cocktails. We ordered the cauliflower spiced with a beautiful, balanced heat, the brussel sprouts, combined with the pear which made such a phenomenal, complimentary flavor combination. We shared the skirt steak which wasgrilled perfectly rare and tender, the chimichurri so bright!  It was my favorite. And a large enough portion to share. Wetried both the bread pudding and the panne cotta for dessert. They were well matched together. The rich banana rum sauce and rumemphasized bread pudding alongside the tropical flavors of the panne cotta were a perfect end to our meal. Generous portionsfor a tapas restaurant in everything. The wait staff and service were prompt and cheerful, Shelby was excellent. The bar servicewas detailed and fast. I can't wait to go back and try the rest of their menu. Read more

Guacaya was outstanding! It was our first time here and went based off a friends recommendation. First off, the ambiance was... fun, welcoming, homie and inviting all at the same time. We had the following: -Steak Skewers -Maiz -Leche de Tigre withMezcal -La Centuria cocktail The steak was so tasty, I will be ordering it every time I come back. The corn was creamy and hadcrispy bits on top that contrasted contrasted the creaminess. I was surprised at the portion sizes compared to similar pricepoints for tapas, you get your money?s worth! The drinks were fun, vibrant and well thought out. I had the Leche de Tigre had ajalapeño and chili salt, which played perfectly with the sweet and smokiness of the drink. My wife got the La Centuria cocktailwhich she loved. The best part of the whole experience was the owner stopped by and talked to us. He told us the story of therestaurant and how everything from the decor, to the food, was culminated with love and friendship. He explained many of therecipes are his mothers and he wanted to showcase his family and culture through his food, which really showed. Much of the artwork was from friends in New Orleans and many of the products, such as the lighting fixtures, were from local companies. Wewill be returning in the near future! Guacaya Bistreaux is a must try. Read more

This is easily one of my new favorite spots in MSP. The food is amazing, the cuisine and cooking styles are super diverse. The... service was great, although it is more of a casual spot so you order everything through the app. But I think my favorite thingwas that it was walk in only, that helps a ton, especially in downtown. I'll be back. Read more
