Cozy, chic bar specializing in sake and Japanese whiskey. This is walk-in only with limited seating. They use Japanese culinary... ingredients in their drinks such as ume, togarashi, and shiso. I was at a different bar with a friend trying a Japanese whiskey when my friend said if we really wanted to try good Japanese... whiskey, we needed to go to Gori Gori Peku because he'd had a great experience there. So a week later, there we went. The staffhost staff was welcoming and directed us to the bar. We were very quickly presented with the menu to look over and given a fewminutes to do so. After taking it all in, we set our menus down and looked up and around to make eye contact with one of thethree people working this tiny bar space, including the person behind the bar directly in front of us. No interaction from him,OK.... How about the server who brought us the menu, where is she? Not around, OK... Third time was the charm, we did getsomebody to listen to our preferences to then make some suggestions. We each chose our whiskeys and we're happy with them. Allin all it was an OK experience with both pluses and minuses. If I were with someone else who wanted to check it out, I wouldgive it another try. Well, the atmosphere was intimate and inviting. The details down to the branded ice cube were excellent. The variety and choices... of Japanese whiskey were some of the best I've seen. Then I ordered the Kado Old Fashioned, the flavor was decent if not a bitthick from what I'm assuming is the simple syrup, but I could not exactly tell you that for sure since the actual drink waspoured out of a bottle pre-mixed. This quite honestly shocked me! It was nearly $20 for this drink, the most basic whiskeycocktail at this high end bar was pre-made. Disappointed doesn't quite describe my feelings. Read more

Incredibly impressed with Gori Gori Peku bar. My friend and I had gone as a way to finish off the night after a wonderful... omakase dinner at Kado No Mise. This place is a hidden gem. Unique selection of cocktails and in a cozy, intimate setting. I had the fig old fashioned, and it... lovely. It was surprisingly smooth for an old fashioned and the fig brought a really interesting flavor. Definitely plan to comeback here in the future. Read more
