Food was good except steak was overcook as I ordered mid-rare. I like the place but service needed to be improve. I had to wait... for plates and utensils for 30 mins. My husband and I just looked at food and thought should we eat by hands. I had to grabnapkin by from other table as our serve was disappear. It?s really need improve. Easily the best Mexican food (outside of Mexico) I?ve ever had. I?ve been coming since I first moved to the area in 2017. Most... of the diners at any given time are Spanish-speaking. They?ve got Spanish-language karaoke and mariachi bands all the time. There are deer heads on the wall for some reason and your server may or may not speak English. This place is always loud as helland probably not a good choice if you are trying to have a serious conversation or are looking for something lower-key ? or ifyou prefer an Americanized experience. But whoever works in their kitchen can cook anyone out of the damn room. Tacos are out ofthis world. Everything on the menu is. I can?t recommend this place enough. Read more

The food was good, the atmosphere was fun, and the wait staff were helpful and friendly. The portions were absolutely massive so... there is no chance I could finish my meal but we enjoyed the chicken fajitas and the enchiladas (#18 and #16). The complimentarychips and salsa were delicious as well! I will definitely need to go back to try some other food. Read more

Great food, but WAY TOO LOUD. They have a juke box that is just as loud as being at a night club. If you don't mind that, 5... stars. But I have Autism & it took me several days to recover from the sensory overload. Read more

I need to start this restaurant review talking not about the food but the volume of the music. It was so loud inside the... restaurant you needed to shout to have a conversation with your dining partners. And your waiter. My wife and I went to ElNuevo Mariachi excited to try their mole sauce. I?m a bit of a mole junkie. It?s the first item on their list of entrees(enchiladas rojas, verdes or de mole.) El Nuevo Mariachi doesn?t seem to have a website, so I?ve tried to include some picturesof their menus with this review. We placed our orders for enchiladas de mole, guac, and 2 margaritas. The waitress came back ina bit and informed us that they were out of mole. Soul crushing. I changed my order to fajitas and my wife to twoappetizer-sized tacos. Soon we received our margaritas and some complimentary chips and salsa. Salsa was spicier than you willfind at most places, and I liked it. Margarita was large at a decent price, but the flavor was average at best. A large guaccame out and didn?t disappoint. Fajitas were average. My wife wasn?t blown away by her tacos. We wanted one more drink beforewe left and ordered two Bohemia?s. They were out of those, too. Back to the sound. On their menu they list ?Karaoke de Jueves adomingo de 6pm a 1:45 am?. We got there on a Friday just after 6. Thankfully, there were no karaoke performers, justoppressively loud music. To be clear, I had no issue with their choice of music, just the volume. It reminded me of when musichas been used in psychological operations to torture people. They have about a half dozen tables outside, but unfortunately theywere all filled when we arrived. It was perfect weather this July 1, so this would have been ideal. I did ask the waitress ifthe music could be turned down. She pinched her finger and thumb together and said ?a little bit?? I said ?sure.? I?m prettysure the volume didn?t change. I think they were making it clear that if you don?t like the volume, you shouldn?t com Read more

YUMMMM! real, authentic mexican food, with a mexican vibe; I felt like I was back in a bar in mexico. The michelada, and... horchata was DELICIOUS, the food was great also! my beans and rice were slightly cold, but my chilaquiles were delicous withgreat flavor, and my boyfriends soup had great flavor! Service was good, could have been a bit more friendlier but she was good. This will be my to go to for mexican food when in Minneapolis! Read more
