Fantastic!!! My new favorite place for a fun evening with friends. Love the secret staircase entrance, faux smokey atmosphere,... friendly & fun wait staff, awesome live singer, and just the overall prohibition atmosphere. It was better than I expected!! I really enjoyed the atmosphere at Al's Place. The music was good and it did feel like the 1920's. I was very disappointed... with the food. The meatballs were very small and tasted unseasoned and were not "Italian" in anyway. I strongly suggest thatthe cook go eat a real meatball dish at DeGidio's near downtown St Paul. The wait staff was excellent but a 20% tip wasautomatically added without our table's permission. It was an interesting experience and my table mates liked their foodchoices but all agreed the portions were small given the cost. Read more
