Dinner at Val?s was pleasant and quick. The restaurant was not overly full for a Saturday night. The rolls were fluffy and... filling. The egg plant parm was very thinly sliced. The portobello mushroom ravioli with an Alfredo sauce was delicious. Thechild?s spaghetti was a very good portion and he took some home. The house salad was what you would expect, ice burg lettuce, nothing spectacular. Our server was nice and did ok checking on us during dinner. Read more

Service was awesome but the food was just OK, the chicken shrimp Alfredo was very bland and the red snapper was extremely fishy... and covered in a sauce that tasted straight tomato juice, menu stated it had sauteed mushrooms but to me they tasted like thecan mushrooms covered in tomato sauce and not fresh ones. I guess I should have asked about that . The best item we receivedwas the garlic and herb oil as an appetizer. Read more

We just had lunch there and the food was excellent, sweet waitress ...but when when we asked for a spoonful of extra sauce to... take what we didn't eat home, we were told it would be charged extra. I declined pasta with my Eggplant Parmigian, and I wastold if I had had the pasta it would have been an extra $2! When is this the norm? Left a bad taste in our mouths, excuse thepun. Read more

attended your Mineola location tonight. The ac was not working, which made for a unenjoyable dinner with the family. We... proceeded to order the 3 entrées. Alfredo, chickens and vegetables, and finally the chicken anti. entree, all that includedbread, but did not include a salad with the entree. But if we got a Val entree, then the side salad was included. So a sidesalad is $3.75, which is pictured below, which a 1/4 of the plate was covered by dressing. The lettuce did not even cover halfof the plate. Read more

The server was on top of things and very attentive. Granted we went here an hour from closing and were the only ones in the... restaurant. However, that doesn't change the quality of the foods we ordered. The only thing I thought was sub-standard imo wasthe red snapper. Bread was too think and fish was tough. The fried Calamari appetitizers was super crispy and tasty. Fruit deMar was very good as well as the Shrimp Fetichini Alfredo and the Tortellini Siciliano. Garlic bread was very yummy. This is adefinite go back for us. Read more

Fresh soft bread, interesting house salad, reminded me of cocktail sauce. I got the chicken parmigiana and was not disappointed.... Crispy despite being covered in sauce and mozzarella. Good red sauce. I will be back. Read more

First, but definitely not my last time. Our party of 12 dropped in unannounced. Jessica was our server. She was AMAZING! Such... a delight. She did a great job start to finish. She is a natural. This showed in the fact she was unhurried and thorough on herservice. She even was able to banter and thus entertain us. All the while staying on point while attending to our party. Oh yes.The food. Almost forgot about the food. Forgive me. OOOMMMGGG!!!! BEYOND AWESOME!!! I've cooked on and off all my life. I knowfood. I had the Cheese steak. Delicious. Was served with a side of marinara. Best sauce I've had. Ever. I've worked in somepremier Italian kitchens and this sauce was perfect. I had actually been waning from marinara of late, but their sauce started awhile new love affair. With marinara sauce!. One friend had a beutiful, rather large grilled chicken salad. It looked fantastic. He said it was top notch. Another friend had lobster ravioli. IF I had known that was on the menu, that's what I would haveordered. Next time. I promise. The house bread is plentiful and served warm. Fresh baked, of course. I made the mistake of overindulging on it. This sadly prevented me from having desert. Next time. I promise. If you're looking for fine Italian food atfair prices, with unbeatable service, Val's is the place for you. I promise! Never trust a skinny food critic. Don't forget theshopping distric. Val's is located in the premier antique shopping district of East TexasY'all come! Read more
