I was in Milwaukee for the weekend & it was recommended that I try Hmong/Lao food. There?s not very many Hmong/Lao food options... in Chicago, that I know of so I was excited. We ordered the Lao Sausage, Larb Salad, noodle soup (forgot the name) and pho. TheLao sausage was so good that I went to go buy frozen ones at the market nearby. I don?t eat spicy food & even though we orderedmild for the larb salad, it was unbearably spicy. I still took 2 more bites because it was good, but way too spicy for me. The 2noodle soup dishes were not bad but I wouldn?t order it again. If I?m ever back in Milwaukee, I would try the other dishes. Read more
Me and my family came out for my brother in law's birthday! We wanted to try something different but was a little skeptical... about the location and I must say,it was a wonderful experience!!! Very beautiful atmosphere with peaceful fun-loving crowd. Thewaitresses and bartender were amazing. Showed very good hospitality and the DJ was on point! They showed us a very good time.They had slot machines which added to the fun. They kept checking on us and did their very best to accommodate our every need.We will be back again. GREAT JOB- the only reason they received a four star is because its extremely expensive for you to rentout the space so I was disappointed with that but plus side their bathrooms were CLEAN TOO! that's a big thing for me whenvisiting new establishment s. Came for lunch on a Sunday around noon with a party of 7 We got chicken wings, eggrolls and crab rangoon as starters. Red &... green curries were more broth-y than thick. Don?t be discouraged about the location. The friendly staff, service and delicious food is well worth it!
This place is huge and decorated very nice. Staff is very friendly. Enjoyed chicken satay, sticky rice, som dum which was made... to order. I asked for it Laos style 2 peppers and did exactly that. I was going to get the pork but thought it was a little bitpricey since they don?t tell you how much you are going to get for $24. Suggest adding that to the menu. The pictures thatpeople have been posting it looks amazing. Will be going back for that. For all the food I ordered with a 3rd space beer wasright about $38 dollars. Read more
Visited OX Cafe for the first time today. What a treat! The space is very pleasant and the servers are friendly and attentive.... We ordered the Lao sausage and Volcano Chicken. The sausage was super flavorsome and the dipping sauce was to die for. Thevolcano chicken was perfectly spiced with a delicious crispy skin. It was perfectly cooked, moist and flavorful.
