We went on 10/27/22. I have been wanting to come to Amilinda for a long time but hadn’t gotten around to it until last night.... It was just ok. We got the Squash Brava and the ‘Spicy’ Chicken and Steak entrees, as well as a Sangria and the Old Waiterfor drinks. Honestly the drinks were the best part of the meal. All of the food could have greatly benefited from more spicesand honestly just some salt and pepper but there wasn’t any at the tables. My Spicy Chicken had no detectable spiciness whichI was looking forward to. My boyfriend doesn’t like his steak well done, he wasn’t asked if he’d like it done to a certainlevel so I guess that’s up to the chef’s discretion. He wasn’t impressed. We also noticed the table next to us wasreceiving better service, and received bread with their appetizer, the same one we ordered. For a $100 dinner we were reallyexcited for, we were a bit disappointed, and to us it was not worth it. Read more

My friends and I were excited to try out Amilinda after having read so many recommendations online and from friends. We stopped... by for a late dinner on a Saturday night and were told immediately that the restaurant was understaffed. I appreciated the headsup - this review is in no way reflective of the wait staff or the level of service. Rather, what drives my rating is 100% basedon the cuisine we were served. First, of a menu containing approximately 10 items, we were told that nearly half of the itemswould not be available due to missing ingredients. Of the remaining options, both the peppers appetizer and the chicken entreewere okay yet fairly underseasoned. My entrée, the shakshuka, was nothing short of a complete disaster. It was more like abland vegetable soup with poorly cooked eggs. The photo doesn't even do it justice as to how improperly they made this dish. Webrought up our concerns at the end of the meal, and the restaurant explained that Chef Greg was not in the kitchen that night.Suddenly everything made sense, yet it still shocked me just how much the restaurant falls apart in his absence. They were niceenough to comp half our meal, which is honestly the only reason I gave a second star. Otherwise, I think that meal may haveactually been one of the worst dining experiences of my life. For anyone who felt this review was too harsh, look at my priorreviews. I give most places 4 or 5 stars. I can't even remember the time I gave out a 2 star review. I don’t take joy in beingso critical, but the meal was truly that bad. Read more

The chef is a James Beard Award nominee and it shows. The food is interesting with depths of flavor. We had skirt steak,... duck-fat roasted chicken and rack of lamb with a Goan coconut curry. The staff is friendly. The atmosphere is cozy. And as abonus Chef Gregory Leon came out to speak to me and my two college-age sons. Milwaukee is lucky to have such a high-levelestablishment. Last night Andrea Dexter and I went out for a nice dinner to end the week, landing on Amilinda We started the night off with... two very good Sangrias and a Pork Albóndigas with Manchego Cheese and Serrano Ham appetizer that was fantastic. The maincourse for me was Halibut with a squash puree, while Andrea had a Pork Shoulder stew. The halibut was nice and flakey, with acharred surface, and the squash puree was sweet and smooth. Andrea's stew was tender and full of meat, but in our opinion wasgreatly assisted by some salt and pepper I rounded the night out with a "Portal Fashion", a Port based play on the OldFashioned, which was also delicious. All-in-all, great atmosphere and good food. We will definitely be back to try theirever-changing menu! Read more

I went with a girlfriend for a weeknight dinner around 6pm. The space is beautiful, quaint and clean. The chefs at Amilinda... definitely know what they are doing. They do an amazing job elevating the Milwaukee food scene. Everything we had was unique andphenomenal. We ordered a few small plates and ended up sharing an entree. I like how their menu changes seasonally and it’sdefinitely another reason to go back to try something new. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because when we weredining we felt a bit rushed from our server- rushed to order, eat, pay and leave. The dining room wasn’t full, It wasn’tclose to cling time and other tables seemed to be leisurely enjoying their food. Read more
