So we called up and ordered 4 catfish baskets and hostess stated you get one side with the basket and we discussed what came in... the basket catfish, french fries and a side is what was communicated. Unfortunately there were no fries to be seen becauseapparently fries is a side and were removed when a side was added to each. So we were surprised to see 4-5 (rather tiny) catfishpieces along with a couple of hush puppies and when we called to inquire why our baskets didn?t come with fries the hostessexplained that they removed the fries and put in the green beans and okra??Question: who sells 4-5 small pieces of catfish andtwo hush puppies in a ?basket? without fries. It is a ripoff for the price and a surprise that the meager basket was not what itshould have been. Won?t be going back to David?s in the future as I have yet to receive a call from the manager as the hostessstated I would receive. Blame it all on Covid if you wish but poor quality service and half the food it should have included ata high price is not my idea of a good restaurant. Read more
I waited 40 minutes for my food. I ordered popcorn shrimp and oyster basket with cheese grits. The oysters and shrimp were both... overcooked. The grits and hushpuppies were great. I could only struggle with eating a few of the shrimp and oysters. Verydisappointed, probably my last visit. This place used to be the best fried shrimp around. Read more
I love David's Catfish House! It is a slice of southern fried hospitality! The staff are always friendly and the food is... delicious. It is slightly pricey but totally worth every dollar! Read more
After a crazy week moving my family back to my hometown and stomping ground and the past two days downloading a moving truck....... David's Catfish House was the comfort we all needed. Up until today, whenever home, we always went into the restaurant to eatwhich has always been amazing. Normally, I'm always leary from ordering to-go because food never seems as good. But with all ofus being totally exhausted, we went for it. Milton's David's Catfish House did not let us down. From the seafood platter,Catfish & Shrimp, shrimp platter and chicken tenders... was all amazingly perfectly delicious. Nothing was missing, every platehad all the sauces to include ketchup along with silverware and napkins. My husband said a staff member double checkedeverything. After the military, we that Arizona would be home but the South pulled me home. We will be visiting quite often.Thank you for feeding our family this evening, we greatly appreciate it. Read more
I really liked their tea! I had the boiled shrimp. Prices are higher than their menu online. For $27 you should get more than 12... shrimp. Not sure why the slaw is ?famous??it is good. Hopefully next time we pass through the area they are better and not ashighly priced. Read more
Very busy, the catfish was ok, but the shrimp was really good. They were pretty busy but still seated right away. Wasn't... impressed with our waitress, but this was my first time there and the people I came with said the regular waiter, David, theyusually get, is awesome, so I gave them a 5 star. One thing though, the tartar sauce wasn't good. I don't recommend tryingit. Also, 2 pieces of fish is plenty, the all you can eat was totally unnecessary for most in our party. Read more
Consistently great food. Best catfish around these parts. Always busy, 'cause everyone knows its a great place to eat. Expect to... wait during busy times. It's worth the wait. I'm adding a picture of the fish & shrimp basket. Great value, & tastes great. Read more
Very very disappointing. I took my mom here for dinner with my son and husband. We waited an hour after being seated to finally... just ask the waitress to speak to the manager. 10 minutes later our waitress finally comes back with our food. By this point wewanted to just leave. We told her we wanted to speak to the manager and didn?t want to eat. My mom was starving and wanted totry and eat hers but the fish was cooked in old grease and the fries were terrible. So we went up to pay for the coleslaw andour drinks and told the lady at the register what happened and she had nothing to say and just handed us our receipt. I willnever go here again. This place used to be such a great place to eat seafood but not anymore. Read more
