Reviews for Roots Cafe in Millcreek, UT
I had the southerner omelet and a buttermilk pancake with their real maple syrup. The omelet tasted great and had a lot of... flavor packed in with the ranchero sauce and peppers. It wasn?t overly spicy. The pancake was perfect and paired with delicioussyrup. The only thing that was a miss for me was the coffee and potatoes. Both were bland in my opinion. Potatoes could use moreseasoning and the coffee tasted weak. Other than that staff was friendly and were helping each other out when it started to getbusier this morning. Read more
Roots cafe, for breakfast was great. The patio dining is the way to go, perfectly shaded and pleasant atmosphere. Service was a... tad slow, but the staff was upbeat and friendly. Good variety of flavored coffees for a cafe which is a plus in my book. Menuoptions were great. Read more

Had the pancake of the day which was wild berry and oatmeal and it was excellent. Huavos Rancheros was decent and that eggs... Benedict was fantastic. Busy crowds, but the waitress was excellent as well. Pancakes were definitely the star for me Read more
We arrived on a Friday around 10:40 AM on a Friday and had to wait so I was sure it was because of the great reviews of this... place. Once at our table, it took our waitress about 15 minutes before she took our drink order?due to already waiting beforesitting down...and at our table perusing the menu, we ordered our food with our drinks. I think we must have all not orderedwhat is really popular because none of us are that picky, but our food was just average. The pancake of the day was allegedlybanana...and while tasty enough for a pancake, it didn't have any banana flavor whatsoever (would it have been too hard to addsome banana slices??). Another in our party got the French toast bread pudding and it was a bit heavy...but that should havebeen expected since it was "bread pudding." My omelette lacked flavor but could have been because I subbed cheddar cheese forthe pepper jack cheese. But the absolute crime in my meal was the dry and HARD piece of wheat toast accompanying my omelette. Myhusband got the bleu cheese burger and seemed to like it (he did take a little of the bleu cheese off though). I'm kind of sadthat I built this restaurant up in all of our minds (after all the great reviews) and figure we just hit them on a bad day. Read more
They served a quite good breakfast here. I loved the pancake of the day with mint which i think its so refreshing to taste and... its my first time to try it. I ordered the breakfast sandwich on ciabatta with over medium egg; spicy sausage, avocado, onions, hold the jalapeño. On the... side I got the daily pancake which was mixed berry and granola ($3.50). First off I ordered way too much food. The mixed berryand granola pancake was simply amazing flavor combination with the real maple syrup. The breakfast sandwich was superdelicious. My daughter ordered two buttermilk pancakes and one would have been enough. Perfectly cooked, brown and fluffy. Mysister ordered the cranberry bread pudding French toast with candied pecans - another winner. Really cool breakfast place, would definitely come back Read more
Came in and put our name down, said only about 15 mins which is understandable. Another couple came in after us and they were... seated before us, they knew one of the hostesses. Very unprofessional and I haven't even eaten the food yet. Really hoping ourexperience is better once seated.... Oh wow. Once seated and we got our food, I ordered the crepes. Worst crepes I've ever had.And I love ricotta cheese. I ate potatoes for breakfast because I was scared to try anything else. The other person in my partyordered the basic over easy eggs with bacon and an English muffin.... the eggs were practically raw and I felt nauseous tryingthem. Both of our meals were barely eaten. Not to mention the coffee tasted like it was Folgers instant coffee. I suck atcooking but I'm very confident anything I made would taste better than this establishment. I would never recommend or come hereagain. Read more
