Reviews for Grits Cafe in Millbrook, AL
Nice place and great service staff. We ate on a Saturday and it was packed so we had a small wait to be seated but a fairly long... wait for our food. The food arrived hot and tasted great, but it was noticed portions were different at different tables. I.e. Achild ordered the same dish as my spouse and her portion was double what a grown man received. The meal was delicious, butunfortunately it did upset our stomachs within an hour (NOT food poisoning). I chalk part of our experience up to it being verybusy. The servers and hostess were the best! Read more

We always enjoy our brunch experiences at the Grits Café. We have had the opportunities to meet the wonderful owners. A great... place to gather with loved ones and enjoy home-cooked Southern food. Though service can take a bit longer than anticipated, keepin mind that staff shortages are a reality. Our server Tara was outstanding! She had such a positive energy and "spunk" whichwas delightful. Went to this establishment twice. First time.. checked out the waiting list, ambience and overall vibe. I sat at the bar the... first time. They stay busy. Nothing spectacular to see at the bar, but the person next to me was cool. I got the wakie wakie -simple and easy. That biscuit was fantastic. Their coffee was good, too. They do provide flavored creamers.. just ask, if theydon't offer. My server was super sweet and attentive. Second visit - I don't know about the host. Maybe she didn't get hercaffeine in just yet. But all is good. We (3 people) waited in front of an empty 4-person table for 10-15 minutes only to getseated at that very table. Weird. Anywho... got their infamous shrimp and grits - loaded grits at that. Delicious!!! Highlyrecommend that dish. Compliments to the chef!! They lost a star because of the staff. For a smaller mom and pop establishmentand the praises I've heard about this restaurant, I expected the staff would have been an extension of the goodness I heard. Read more
