Vineyard Gate has been an honest wine trailblazer in Millbrae for over 20 years. Their frequently updated selections are... delicious and alive. I started as a wine club member a few years ago. The more than affordable club includes two bottles amonth, discounts for purchases, and insightful notes about producers. Alex pours vast knowledge of the trade into his originalsummaries. You won’t find a better club or wine selection anywhere! Read more

Great wine shop that carries a tasty selection of organic and natural wines. The owner is well versed in wine and sake, and he... seems to personally know many winemakers he represents, or at the very least the winemakers' stories behind the bottles. Highlyrecommended! Read more

Alex Bernardo not only really knows wine but his selection is also broad and deep particularly for Europe (Burgundy, Bordeaux,... Alsace, Rhone, Loire, Champagne, and German Mosel and Rheingau) and the US West Coast (California, Oregon and Washington), withmany hard to find producers represented, always affordable. While his stock normally includes many well-known domaines andnegociants, his French Burgundies are often unique and not carried by anyone else in Northern California. I've also been atVineyard Gate for several tastings, including Moët & Chandon with a French representative, and special events like awine-tasting party for a friend's birthday, and it's a great venue for intimate and convivial occasions. When looking forspecial wine, I usually first search Vineyard Gate on the San Francisco Peninsula. Read more
