Good take out option. Food quality is consistent. Only observation I have is the lack of spice, szechuan is supposed to burn a... little. Please use more peppers, some of us can handle it! Read more

I ordered takeout and have ordered in the past with no issues. The food is always fresh and the kids love having it as a treat... for dinner. Indoor seating is opened back up so if you feel like eating there, you can. Read more

Very disappointed. I had been to this restaurant before the Pandemic a few years ago and it was fine. Although overpriced for... Chinese food, the ambiance was worth it. Now it's take out only, they say because of COVID. Which is fine too. But, althoughthere is a sign that says masks are required, none of the workers there wear one. Now, on to the food. It was mediocre. ThePork egg foo young was not served with separate sauce. The hot and sour soup was horrible. No taste, lots of soy curds buthardly any vegetables or seasoning, Not "hot" at all and hardly any mushrooms. The price: They charged an extra 3.95% to pay by card. Does not matter if its a debit or credit card. The combo egg foo young was 10.75 and you could not substituted the eggroll for anything else. The A La Cart Egg foo Young, is 9.75 which is not much different. So, if you must go here, order A LaCart... the Egg Roll is not worth it. There are better Chinese restaurants in Port Jervis or on 6 going towards 84 is a ChineseBuffet restaurant next to a mote which is much better and you get a better deal. You can dine in and they wear masks anddisinfect everything. Read more

I asked for Kung Pao chicken and asked for it to be medium spicy (actually Zh?ng là in Mandarin), and it was perfect and all... the vegetables were perfectly fried crunchy. The biggest surprise was the amount of chicken in the dish. Chang Mao served morechicken in their Kung Pao than any other Chinese restaurant I have been to, maybe on a par with one near Princeton. Next time Iwill order it spicy hot (Là là de). Read more

My husband and I tried this place and were shocked at how bland everything was. We threw out the leftovers. We had general tso... chicken, pork lo mein, fried rice and egg rolls- all flavorless. I would have given one star, but it didn?t make us sick and itwas edible food once we added some sauce at home. Read more

There aren't many options for Chinese in the area so Chang Mao's it is. I believe it's the owner, has the biggest attitude... problem, EVERY TIME I order. I mean every time. I don't think I've ever seen her friendly. My biggest issue..is how cheapthey are with the duck sauce. Two duck sauces for a $40 order is pathetic...I've offered to PAY EXTRA for more, to which theydecline and say they'll give extra...only to give two more. They're also jumping on board with the merchants who want theircustomers to absorb the credit card fees...annoying...but somewhat okay considering everyone got hit hard with the pandemic, Lastly, on top of your rudeness, asking me if I want to leave a tip for takeout...no thanks. I don't think I've ever actuallyhad someone ask me that. If you're desperate, go for it, the food is okay, but if you can make the trip, head down to PortJervis for Ming Moon. Much better food/serving sizes/service. Read more

We ordered easily and picked up with no problems. The ordering experience wasn't great, the website wouldn't allow us to select... some things we should have been able to. The fried items were cooked in fresh oil. Everything we ordered was lacking flavor butour order was timely and correct. The biggest downfall was lack of flavor in all our meals. The tofu in their dishes couldreally benefit from marination to pick up on the flavors. I think that would make a big difference. The crab wontons need flavoras well, maybe more crab and green onion. Fried rice needs more as well. Not sure if the sweet and sour chicken was overcookedor just sat under a heat lamp. Egg rolls were good. The portion sizes were disappointing. Overall, not a bad place to orderfrom if you're in a pinch but I wouldn't make it my go-to. Read more

Food was good, egg foo yung and the sweet and sour chicken were good and the pork fried rice was very tasty without any sauce... at all. There wasnt much to say about the drinks. Typical soda selections but they are served in a can apposed to a cup. Theyhave quite a selection of liquor though. Where they can improve is to have some music of any kind playing. It was eerily quietwhen we sat eating and talking. Servers could use some training in hospitality and courtesy. They make you feel rushed to orderor get out. There is no "hey, is everything good, do you need anything else?" No, just put food infront of you n walk away. Also, no "thank you" on our way out the door. Overall, this place is better to order from to eat at home. The food is decent. But dont look for a welcoming restaurant experience. Read more
