Firstly the beer, saying it was good is an understatemen. The menu is large with options for all and Maria(waitress) is a great... help advising dishes and drinks to your taste. She knows the menu well and did everything to provide the best possible service.After meeting with Joe the owner and getting insight into just how hard he works to get the best varieties of beer makes youwant to come back and try them all. One of the breweries on the Hunterdon County Beer Trail, this place is situated right by a picturesque creek. The staff were... great; super friendly and quick to take our orders and bring us alcohol. They do serve food at this brewery, and it's DELICIOUS.We ordered a watermelon and feta salad, a giant pretzel, and Reuben egg rolls. All fantastic. The alcohol was good. My partnerliked the beer and I enjoyed their cider. We'll definitely go back if we're in the area again! Read more

Descendants has the ingredients to be great but unfortunately wasn't on our first visit since it had been The Ship Inn. On the... plus side ... Atmosphere, lots of beers on tap, a solid offering of whiskeys and other liquors, and a reasonable selection offood choices. On the negative side, the two beers we drank had great flavor but both were unfortunately a bit flat, surprisinglysince they were from the tap. The other negative was the owner, who seemed irritated or perhaps preoccupied with something,which came across in her interaction with us. The bartender was friendly and cordial however. We'll try again and see if we canupdate with a better rating in the weeks ahead. Read more

What a fantastic location to unwind and enjoy a great brew with great food. We have visited this Descendants Brewing Co. twice... and have been impressed with the great ambiance, food, beer and service. The music is not too loud, the lighting is perfect andthe interior is rustic and relaxing. One of my favorite places to visit in Hunterdon County for an enjoyable time! Ship Inn/ Descendants Brew Pub has been a long time local stop for me for more years than I care to admit. But this is my first... time in several months. Part of the transition from Ship Inn to Descendants Brewing has involved some tastefulrenovations/update which nicely blend the old charm with an upscale look. In addition to their on premise brews, they have anice selection of "guest taps" and English/ European bottles. An expanded menu offers some staples and new offerings. I startedwith a Best Bitter and some Old Bay seasoned wings. The wings were meaty, juicy and very crispy (no breading). The Old Bay wentgreat with a side of Dill dipping sauce. The Best Bitter was of course as good as it's always been. For my main course I chosethe Wild Boar burger with Bacon & Goat Cheese. It was cooked as ordered (medium), juicy and delicious! While great on it's own,the side of Mole dipping sauce was a great enhancement and worked well with the flavor of the boar, the thick cut bacon, and thecreaminess of the goat cheese. I washed that down with the house Irish Stout. Very awesome meal, friendly and attentivewaitstaff. If you've never been Go!
