Not a reflection on service or cleanliness. I have it two stars simply because of the food . I love great barbecue and I decided... to walk a few blocks to try this place and ordered the Oklahoma sampler. I started off with a bite of ribs no sauce just to seehow they were barbecuing. Ribs were tougher than they needed to be ..kind of bland. Pulled pork bland..but cooked long enough.Brisket dry and bland. Mashed potatoes were good, standard Mac n chz, roll was good. Sweet tea was excellent. I chose not tobring it up to a manager but tipped my waiter and left. I just want you to know just because it's called the Oklahoma samplerdoesn't mean that's our standard. Just moved into town and looking for great places to eat. This definitely makes the list for somewhere I can go at least once a... week. The ribs were fantastic, nice in size and flavorful. The chicken breast was also juicy along with the spicy bbq, theexperience was great, most definitely will recommend! The picture doesn?t do justice for the amazing food. Read more
This is the first time I've been to this Swadley?s. We ate inside and I was impressed by how new everything looked. They have a... tunnel that leads into the restaurant that reminds me of going into a mine shaft. It's actually pretty cool. I think thelighting was brighter than the other Swadley?s I've been to. So, how is the BBQ? I enjoyed the brisket I ate, but it was asmall portion. I had turkey too and it was the best I've ever had. They smoke their baked potatoes and those are excellent aswell. We stayed way too long, like usual, but it's a comfortable place to hang out. Our waiter was great! She made the day ofone of our grumpy gang by listening to him and fulfilling his silly request. I am from Texas, but currently live in Georgia. I stumbled upon Swadley's today, while visiting family. I was very impressed.... I ordered the food to-go. The staff is so friendly and helpful. I didn't expect the food to be so good. My brother lives nearbyand had never had Swadley's BarBQ. We were both so happy with our food. I ate at quite a few places during my recent trip toOklahoma City and I have to say this was the highlight of my trip. I had the burnt ends side, and shared the brisket meal withmy brother. I got my brother the loaded baked potato ???? with smoked chicken. Their bbq sauces are all so delicious. ???? Ilove a good sauce. I can't say enough good things about the food. Typically, I research a restaurant a bit more before I go andI was pleasantly surprised with today's lunch. I went in, told them I had never eaten before here and I don't eat any pork whatwould they recommend and they definitely delivered. I will definitely be back during my next visit. ?? ?? ?? ?? Spare of the moment dinner with the girls. I couldn't decide between the baked potato or the ribs so I got both. No sides... needed. My friends both had the two meat dinner with sides . One had the jalapeno corn and said it lacked actual spicy flavor.Overall they both enjoyed their meals.The server was friendly. The food came out fast. The ribs were tender. I wasn'tdisappointed. Swadley's is typically consistent with their flavor. The Midwest City location has not wavered so far. Read more
I love steak! I couldn't recognize what we had was steak!!! We paid over $108.00 for 3 steak dinners, plus a generous tips.... Meals were absolutely terrible!!! Could not recognize any of the pieces of steak...the rib eyes or sirloin. So tough we couldnot cut them...medium rare was RAW! Complained that mine was not what I ordered, so it was replaced, but still horrible. Full ofgristle - all three steaks. No taste at all. The baked potatoes were HUGE and loaded down with sour cream and cheese...weweren't asked how we wanted them. The plates were small, so with a side dish, such as the HUGE potato, and the meat, therewasn't any room to cut the steak. The okra was not at all tasty. The salad bar was rather skimpy on choice. The sign said"World Famous", but obviously they did not mean the food. Outback Steak House doesn't need to worry about the competition. I'llnever go back and will tell others of our experience. Visiting OKC on a business trip and I decided to drop into Swadley?s for dinner and I wasn?t disappointed!! I ordered (via... phone) the brisket burnt ends dinner with cream corn and mashed potatoes. The food was super delicious and was served in bigportions. The burnt ends were cooked just right, tender and a bit sweet with the bbq sauce. The cream corn and mashed potatoeswere wonderful and served warm. Their sweet tea was some of the best I have ever had! In fact, I ordered 2 just so I would havesome extra back in my hotel room. Lastly, the restaurant team were quick to make sure I was taken care of, very friendly andhelpful and made me feel like I was a regular (I would be if I lived in OKC). Not sure when I would be back in OKC, but if domake it, Swadley?s will be the first place I visit. Read more
