Midway Kentucky is a beautiful quaint town with vibrant shops and restaurants. We love spending an afternoon walking around and... almost always stop at The Goose and Gander for lunch. It's become a favorite with our family because they have something foreveryone. They have entrees like a Kentucky hot brown, fish and chips, meatloaf alongside pizza and sandwiches. They have abeautiful patio outside in front of the restaurant. Inside it's a historic, cozy pub like vibe. We have always receivedexcellent service. Everything we've tried has been delicious. Perfect spot for family, friends or lunch for two. I lovesupporting these small restaurants with big heart. Read more

Nice lil quiet place. We just so happened to stumble across this restaurant while visiting the art fair in Midway Kentucky .... Food and service was great. We both decided to try the angus cheeseburgers which were very good. One of the burgers still hadsteam coming from it and that was after it was halfway gone. Thats pretty impressive. I tried to capture that in one of thephotos. :) Next time we will be trying the pizza. Read more

Waited for more than 40 minutes at 1:30 PM on a Saturday for a patio table. Meanwhile, 4 available unbussed tables on the patio... for the entire waiting period, and a 5th table for the last 30 minutes. Multiple employees made multiple (more than 20)empty-handed trips past the tables without bussing (even including the hostess who came out to partially bus a table and stoppedto chat with a seated table about their dog instead of using this time to clear table for waiting patrons). Let me say, I ampatient and I understand when businesses are busy. However, this was not such an instance. This was a prime example ofinefficiency and dawdling of employees. Read more

I liked this place. I had the beer cheese app and the meatloaf. Both were really good. No complaints about service or... atmosphere. They also have a pretty well stocked bar if you are into that. Read more

First time going and we enjoyed it. They staff was very friendly and we had great service. Pricing was fair and the place was... clean. We would definitely go again. Only downside to our visit was the key lime pie wasn't that great. Read more

This is a cool old building! The look and atmosphere is what drew us in for lunch on Saturday, Sept. 25. We weren't thrilled... with the corner seating they put us in but we made it work. We ordered our food. I ordered the Cod Fish Sandwich with fries andmy husband ordered a bunless burger and potato salad. My fish sandwich w/the housmade tarter sauce was tasty however, I wasshocked at how small of a piece of fish I received. It literally should have been half a sandwich. The fries were good. Myhusband's burger (ordered medium) looked really good. He said it tasted ok but couldn't finish it because it was cool andextremely rare. The potato salad was pretty flavorless. For a $30+ dollar lunch, we left hungry and disappointed. We would havetold our server but we never saw her until we were ready to leave. Read more

The Goose and Gander ... tough one. Right there for a 5 star rating, but don't charge me a $1 for a square cube of frozen... water! This said, the food was good, the drinks (with the costly cube) we're needed and excellent. Got The Brown and it wasdelicious! Everyone enjoyed their meal and town was old, cute and had something for everyone. Read more
