Another scrumptious dinner at 21 Spoons with the shrimp & salmon slider, snapper with couscous & mango/cucumber/mint salsa and... the Tropical Storm cocktail - Sooo good! I was here with friends last week for the root beer glazed pork loin with grilledwatermelon, the salmon with chive grits, the trio of dips, and the lamb meatballs. Annie, Taylre, Mark, and the kitchen staffmake this a delicious and personalized experience each time. (I've been here 3x in the past week!) I shall sleep with a happy,full belly. ???? 21 Spoons is a hidden unique gem in the area. The staff is incredibly personal; with the small number of tables it?s a calm and... relaxing place to eat with low noise levels. The food is scrumptious. We have been twice and have ordered about half the menu,everything has been great. Special kudos for the key lime cheesecake! Read more
What a fantastic hidden gem in Midlothian! Such a unique atmosphere. The staff are so attentive without making you feel rushed.... I called ahead on our way there just to see how busy they were & they had already set up a spot for my husband & I. I made a reservation for 7pm Friday evening. As we walked up to the restaurant, the door was opened & a man came out & said... "welcome Tara!". I'd never been before, he didn't know me, but knew it was my reservation & cared enough to greet me by name. Wewere escorted to a gorgeous little table in a gorgeous little nook, with my name on a place card!! The wonderful gentlemanstayed for a few moments & chit chatted until our delightful waitress came up. She gave us waters & explained the menu. We gotthe scotch egg, pea risotto & salmon. Each dish was beautifully presented & had unique flavors that enhanced the natural food inthe dish, versus being seasoned & spiced to the point that that is all we could taste. When my companion went to the bathroom,the gentleman came back over to talk to me to keep me company!! Told me about the owner, the business, his yard???????? Dining in at 21 Spoons was an experience unlike any other. I'm not just waxing poetic either, I have not eaten at a place like... this before. The staff is incredibly welcoming, attentive and kind. I had a lot of fun getting to know everyone and I'm excitedto come back. I highly suggest you come in ready to try new things and that you book a reservation in advance. They arecurrently only open two nights a week, but they are completely worth it. One of the best parts about 21 Spoons is how theirmenu is set up. They come up with different menu items approximately every 2 months and the ingredients are all sourced locally.They have a list of their local vendors and all of their menu items were things I had never tried before. I wanted to try alittle of everything and it turns out that's how they set up their menu! All their plates are on the smaller side, and you areencouraged to pick several different ones so you can try a large variety of things. Each plate was reasonably priced and at theend I was shocked at how little the tab turned out to be even after an incredibly indulgent night where we ordered theircharcuteríe board, three plates, two alcoholic drinks, two cane sugar sodas, and all three desserts! I had so much fun lastnight, I can't wait to come back again. They have wine tastings, live music, and the ambiance of the restaurant was really nice.Fresh flowers accented their decor and everything was so unique. You need to make room in your schedule to get a reservation toeat here, it's an incredible experience and I can't wait for any other opportunity that comes up so I can insist we come back. Read more
