Downhill since my last visit. This is Texas BBQ? Not sure what this is, but was hoping for BRISKET. this taste like canned... bbq... something ???? Dry ribs, plain beans. Potato salad was ok (thankfully). Didn't get dessert ($4.00!!! for pudding?Really?) Also noticed I got charged extra for ribs. ($1.99) Huh? What's up with that? Oh well. Good BBQ-Better sides! The bbq is better than average. I wasn?t a huge fan of the black oak sausage however the brisket was very... good. Butter beans and cream corn were off the chain!! Service was wonderful. The staff seemed like they enjoyed their job andthat?s a plus. All in all I?d definitely come back. I have driven by this restaurant since the 80s. And have never stopped. I asked my son where he wanted to eat for his bday.... Johnny's bbq he says. So we went. We were immediately greeted by a very nice young man who aided us in our decision making. Wehad a great dinner and experience. Will return soon. Read more
I was hoping to try some Texas bbq and happened to stop by this restaurant. The meat is pretty good and no need to wait in the... line. I ordered the brisket plus 2 ribs which is a good combination. However the food didn?t impress me too much and maybe it?sbecause I am from St. Louis. :) Read more
Great staff, great food, great prices! Glad we stopped in. The southwest corn is so yummy, and you gotta try the jalapeno... sausage. Even the runt plate is enough food to fill up most folks! 1/4 lb of meat (you get to pick as many as you'd like) 2sides and some tasty texas toast!
