I shared a Bacon & Blue burger with my husband. It was so good I wish I had one all to myself. I also had a side salad. It was a... lot better than most places. It came with Greek olives. The manager lied that the pool table didn’t work so we couldn’t play. The beer is great but they SAY THEY ARE a POOL bar and... then they do that. I don’t like being lied to. Worst manager ever. We stopped by Norman's Tavern today and sat outside because of the beautiful weather. The serving staff there is so very nice!... Our server, Michael, was very attentive and knows the menu very well. The food that we ordered was delicious! We both had SkirtSteak with Churrasco sauce, mashed potatoes, salad, and an order of Rice and Beans. We added Pinot Noir to our dinner. Thesteaks came out perfectly as we ordered, which was medium. All the sides were absolutely great! I couldn't believe we were at aTavern. I don't mean that in a bad way either - it's actually a compliment! I know that some taverns have the best food and thisis one of them! In addition, we ordered the Key Lime pie, which had a crispy crust. It was great!! We plan to go back soon. Theplace is well laid out, clean and tidy, quick service, and a friendly staff. From the moment we approached the hostess to the time we departed the restaurant it was a beautiful experience. We were met with... friendly smiles and treated as if we were royalty. I had the Mahi Mahi fish tacos and they were very good and their white peach sangria is perfect. I also had the grilled... calamari. Not bad... a bit too salty for my taste though. What I didn't like was that I ordered the salmon and specificallyasked if it was farm raised or wild caught. The hostess left and then came back and told me to my face that it was wild caught;little did she know that I could tell the moment they brought it out. Soon as they brought it out I knew that I wasn't eating itbecause it was farm raised. I let it sit there while I finished my salad and then kindly asked them to take it back. I reallydidn't like that so that's why they get two stars. I probably won't go back to them when I visit Miami Beach again for thisspecific reason. Do better and don't lie to the patrons. Read more
I had a long layover in Miami on a Sunday, my lady wanted to go to the spa for the day, and I wanted to watch football. Guys,... take your woman to The Strand at Carillon Miami for a day pass and walk across the street to Norman’s Tavern. This place islegit, with good food decent selection of beers. John M, the bartender, was a solid guy and looked after me. It would have beenfive stars, but Dolphins fans celebrating all day beating the bears were a bit much. It's the Bears everyone beats them.
