The ambiance during dinner time was impeccable. The outdoor space was beautiful and intimate. The Tapas style menu allowed my... party to try a few things on the menu. Each and every dish was amazing! The waitstaff was attentive without being overbearingand even added some special touches to make a birthday celebration extra special. We had the best time at Matador room, and a large thank you needs to go to the Edition Hotel staff! Before dinner, we went to... the bar outside the restaurant for a drink. Great cocktails, and then we’re pleasantly surprised to be treated to our drinksas a welcome to Miami. Up the stairs and at the restaurant, we got one of the best tables in the place, a two seater with a viewof the restaurant. Here to celebrate a birthday, our waiter Matthew absolutely made our evening. Helpful from the menuselections to spacing out the courses, he was a rockstar. Now the FOOD! We got - Sweet pea guacamole- weirdly great with a mixof all the flavors you want with a unique twist Wild Gulf Shrimp - simple, yet delicious Glazed Short Rib Tacos (2) - massiveand worth every penny! Large quantity of meat, amazing flavor, and love the crunchy onions on top Sautéed Corn topped withcheese - it delicious, just get it Warm Valrhona Chocolate cake - this is a beautiful chocolate lava that is decadent in all theright ways Long story short, we had the best night and the best food. Fantastic atmosphere and even better food. Walking up to the hostess stand we were very warmly greeted by the staff. They... allowed us to view the outdoor seating before choosing a table. Our server was very friendly and incredibly knowledgeable. Veryfull of suggestions as well as the history of the area and even gave us a little back story on Buenos Aires as well. We triedthe palm heart salad, the grilled octopus, the mushrooms, the chorizo and ricotta pizza, and finished with their lava cake madeby the chef who invented it. Every dish was absolutely phenomenal but the mushrooms and goat cheese stole the show 100%! Read more

Very beautiful decorated outdoor seating, high ceiling and elegant in door. The host was exceptionally welcoming and... accommodating. Manager was graciously attentive. All our dishes were very delicious decorated. Sadly, on Wednesday February 23rdwas a salty day for the chef. Guacamole was too salty and unusually sour. Tuna tartare could burn your tongue with heavilysalted so was all the sauces for our dishes. Calamari was chewy and dry, not ate able. Our lobster was over cooked. To top that,our waitress brought us side dishes twenty minutes before entrees, coffees thirty minutes before desserts. When we asked, shesaid she brought out whatever the kitchen gave her. Clearly, the kitchen and wait staffs need communication coordinator. We havebeen a regular visiting Miami almost every other month and have been staying at the Edition since it first opened. We have ourmeals at Matador every visit, and to be fair, this was the first time we experienced an abnormal dinning experience at Matador.Still, we think Chef Jean-George should goes under cover once in awhile as this restaurant represents his name. Well for the price .. not sure! The portions are mostly small except the egg benedict. No wonder why it is the favorite and egg... Benedict didn't impress me. The fried potato was better. O, the guacamole was good; tortilla chips were too salty. Anyways,wasn't impressed by food. Read more

New discovery to us and a must visit again! We sat outside and enjoyed the pool atmosphere. Since the arrival the staff was very... attentive, while dinner and after. Great and cozy restaurant, inside a hotel. We sat inside, because of the heat. Service was absolutely top notch, everyone was... so friendly and knowledgeable. The bread came with this amazing dipping sauce that the chef is famous for, and I don't evenknow how to describe it. Spicy, sweet, it's great for dipping and I used it on my tacos. We started with Charred Octopus withCrispy Potatoes, Smoked Paprika and Herbs, and it was superb! My main course was Griddled Florida Black Grouper Tacos and myfriend had Glazed Short Rib Tacos, which she described as best short ribs she has ever eaten. The place also has a great wineselection.
