I was extremely surprised with this restaurant. We were late to another reservation and found this unassuming restaurant on the... strip that we decided to try out. Note - You will need to street park. I honestly wasn’t expecting much from the outside, butthe service was great, and the food was even better! The presentation blew me away. Our waiter presented an entire platter ofraw seafood and described our options. He was also super knowledgeable about the menu. What an elegant, charming restaurant this is among a strip of Miami Beach not known for such a high level of dining. This... restaurant is really out of place. It’s A jewel of a place among chain restaurants ,mom and pop establishments, and kitschy beach town shops and dive bars. But from the moment I walked in I felt like I was in a restaurant in NYC or Chicago. The staffare welcoming , engaging, and from the start, they make You feel like you’re being served in your own home. My server ,Miltoncame out with a whole raw snapper and other sea food to demonstrate the fresh seafood that was on the day’s menu. (Who doesthat?). He was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and a gracious host. I chose the snapper, had it filleted and half ofit fried and the other half grilled . It was fresh and delicious. The Rice and beans were well seasoned and I chose a greatarugula salad. This place instantly became a favorite place to dine in North Beach. 3.8 Stars. Our server did a great job with explaining the daily specials and overall menu, which I must admit has too much going... on. Fifi's should consider cutting their menu to only dishes they make best and in the freshest quality. The Florida LobsterAlexis Style appetizer was decent. The grilled Langoustines were cooked perfectly, and the mash potatoes & veggies as sidedishes were a good compliment. Sadly, the steak wasn't done medium rare as ordered (but hey, it's a seafood restaurant). Ohhhh,their Flan was actually pretty good; rich in taste and not overly sweet. Ps. We felt at times, there was an abundance of staffstanding/sitting around without a purpose. What I liked: my order was served in a reasonable timing, what had to be cold was cold and was had to be warm was warm. The... staff is very professional and they explained the whole menu as many times as needed. The server even brought the raw fish theyhad to offer in a big platter to show us the product as it is. What I didn't like: the server insisted in a platter that wastoo much for the table (we were two people). Later on I learned the platter was the most expensive on the menu and understoodwhy the server was so invested in that particular food choice. My company ordered the fish of the day which was promised to befresh and was actually not. The fish tasted funny and when my company explained this to the staff and asked when the fish wasactually caught the server told us it was actually from a few days ago. It wasn't supposed to tasted like that even though itwas from a few days ago but maybe wasn't storage properly. Something else I did not enjoy either is that in my experience I feelthat this restaurant is overpriced. Tips: In the bill you can see how the charge you more for paying with card.
