The atmosphere of this little cafe was adorable. I ate after sundown, and chose a table outside. Normal, crazy traffic, with the... smells weed every now and again. I personally enjoy people watching, so it was the perfect spot for me. If you want a quieteratmosphere, the inside dining looked intimate and was most likely a good buffer from the street noise. The entree was delish. Iordered the Cuban Mojo Chicken. The chicken was cooked perfectly with a delicious glaze and sauteed onions on it. The rice wasgreat. And the red beans were flavored wonderfully. I couldn't resist ordering the mango cheesecake. However, my expectationswere not met with this dessert. The consistency of the cheescake and the presentation was amazing, however it lacked flavor fromthe mango. It was still good, just not the intensity of fruit flavor that I expected to receive. A lovely latin restaurant located in Washington. There was seating inside and outside and although the restaurant isn’t very... big the space is decorated with lots of unique items and colorful pieces from Latin America and Colombia. The menu is reallyeasy to navigate and they offer a lovely variety of dishes. I was really impressed by the tenderness of the meats and theoverall flavor of the food. For the appetizer ordered the Chicken Tacos, and they were excellent. Fresh ingredients and tendermeat, I didn’t added any of the side sauces, really enjoyed the side salad. As main dishes we ordered : The Bandeja Paisa,everything and more of what we were expecting of the dishes. Fantastic presentation, delicious meat, beans, sausage and aspecial comment about the rice and the arepa they were phenomenal. The best bandeja Paisa I have eaten in South Florida. TheRopa Vieja which is a very traditional Cuban dish. It was served with white rice and plantains, delicious dish everything aboutit was savory and perfect. I usually never drink juices but I was curious about the homemade Passion fruit juice, it was prettygood And refreshing. As dessert we ordered the Mango cheesecake, it was phenomenal. We were wowed by the presentation andtaste. Very creamy and delicate flavor really enjoyed it. We passed by this restaurant, but something grabbed our attention to look back and check out this restaurant later. The coziness... and great hospitality of the people there made us sure that we made a right decision. The food was great, and I ordered a hotsauce comes with my Guacamole Burger it made it super good. The Avocado salad was smelled fresh and tasted delicious aswell. Very unassuming small little restaurant but with flavors that can stand up against any other! This place truly deserves an... entire 5-star rating. From the appetizers to dessert, everything was packed with flavors. Appetizers: Ceviche - This was trulythe center piece of the appetizers, and probably of all the dishes. Great presentation and great flavor to back itup. Empanadas - Delicious and crispy. Three per order: chicken, beef and cheese. Patacones Rellenos - Three stuffed tostones,chicken, shrimp, and shredded beef. Very good. Super filling. Can easily be a meal. Entrees: Camarones al Ajillo - Served in atiny Dutch oven. Plenty of large shrimps in butter and fresh sliced garlic. Served with rice and ripe plantains. Great taste.Mild balanced garlic taste. Very good overall. Tacos al Pastor - Good size and great taste. Served with salad. Ropa Vieja -Shredded beef in creole sauce. Tasty. Served with rice and ripe plantains. Desserts - Tres Leches - large piece enough for twoor three. Very creamy and tender cake. Whipped cream topping. Mango Cheesecake - Good taste. Not too sweet. Plenty of eggcustard flavor. Overall, the menu is small but with really good choices. A buddy told me that Casa Latina 1986 was a newly opened spot on the beach and after a crazy Saturday I decided to pay them a... visit for a bite. A very inviting and fun Guillermo (management) welcomed us as we took in the fun quaint decor depicting acouple of Latin American countries. We had the shrimp Ceviche appetizer (ok, I didn't check the reviews first... Thatpresentation caught me of guard, and I liked it) which was pretty great. We had the Bandeja Paisa and the Churrasco for the mainmeal. Meat was perfect, the beans were some of the most flavorful I've had in a bit. Capped the night with a tres leches and anespresso. Thanks for being a solid authentic latin option in south beach. We definitely needed one more. Read more
