Slowly driving by heading home during rush hour, I noticed lots of carry out. Came in to have lunch and the atmosphere and food... were great! I chose this restaurant yesterday because online reviews and pictures price was ok so I?m like might be good ! Nooo!! I was... wrong completely wrong ! Ok I ordered a catfish dinner and fried chicken both with white rice yams and Mac &cheese the chickenskin was tough like they fried it in old oil the fish was SO M?Fin SALTY????????! The max and cheese Lordt i feel like theycooked that like two days before or something because it was burnt bottom and burnt cheese don?t make sense ! The service was exceptional. They were still in their first week when a friend and I went, so they were still working on their... portions and the demand for them. A wide variety of food on the menu. But one hour after opening the fish was gone. Also the website doesn't list daily specials... so what I wanted wasn't available. I waited until chicken was fried. The rice had to be steam cooked at home and all the foodhad a very mild flavor. Perhaps I'll try again, later in the day and pick-up my order. Friendly personnel though. Read more
I?ve tried almost the whole menu, food taste different each time. The mac& cheese was ok the first time and it was great the... second time but after that it received some that was so hard and crunchy on the top you can tell it was not cooked that day,then I had fried chicken, the first time it was 3 big wings fried just right and the next time I got 3 mini wings like the oneyou order from Pizza Hut , so together that equals 1 1/2 mini wings.. the greens and cabbage and string beans should be cookedmore and seasoned, the barbecue chicken was good and the rice be hard sometimes, and the oxtails could use more seasoning andgravy, not clear gravy, and the smothered pork chops were good both way fried with light brown gravy and baked with dark browngravy.. Now the owner and staff is really nice specially Desiree.. I want to continue to come but I?m tired of thinking whatwill turn up the next time I order.. I love to contribute to black owned businesses but please just give us a reason to keepcoming.. not trying to bash because I will give it another try.. I enjoyed my meal from Antie Ruth's Kitchen! I ordered the baked chicken meal with Mac and cheese + candied yams. It was overall... delicious, a very generous portion with a homestyle touch. They even offered their house punch while waiting for my foodcurbside. I'll definitely be back. Read more
