Reviews for Mangia Toscano in Metuchen, NJ
Been here for both lunch and dinner, as well as before they turned into a full service restaurant. Every time has been great,... from food to service. Had Fabiano (I think? I forgot, sorry!) as our waiter for dinner and he was very attentive andknowledgeable. The rest of the staff was also helpful and gave the place a great atmosphere of teamwork. Have to get thespecials every time, as there's always something new to try. Plating is immaculate. Can't compliment the place enough! Read more
Everything was perfect, even the complimentary bread with olive oil. The red snapper was seriously fresh, so tender and juicy... and naturally fish sweet. I ordered my steak medium rare and I got it medium rare - perfect. My husband had their special, boarpasta. Boar was imported from Italy marinated in red wine for 24 hours. It was so special, and my husband loved it so much andkept recommending it to our friends and family for the past 2 days. The service was quick and professional, and our server wasnice and helpful. They sell wines but also allowed BYOB and didn?t charge cork fee. Coffee and desserts was also excellent. Read more
I came here for the first time ever after one of my friends had told me about what I had thought was a great spot, but my... experience was not anywhere close to even decent. It has been four days since we were there and our digestive system has stillnot recovered from the horrendous food we had. I should?ve gone with my gut instinct and got up and left before I had orderedanything. I had ordered the shrimp risotto expecting to get shrimp in the risotto, and instead it appears they took one shrimp, sliced it in half, and than shaved off four very thin slices of half the shrimp and laid it on top of the risotto. The risottowas in a heavy, creamy bisque sauce that had seen its best days a week ago. I have no issue paying a high price for qualityfood, but man did i have buyers remorse. I don?t understand how these people are giving this place good reviews. This placemakes the Golden Corral fine dining. Read more
I'm from Italy, and I went to Mangia Toscano twice during my month in New Jersey. What about? Two beautiful experiences. This is... a perfect and stellar restaurant with best quality for food, and with only seasonal ingredients. Location is a perfect minimalcombination, and the employees are always smiling and the attend to everything. Read more
It's average. Server acted kind of awkward, obnoxious, znd snooty. But I noticed it was kind of common for Italian restaurants... in NJ running as fine dining. Our food was ok. My sea bass was great. My daughter's steak was ok. My husband's lobster risottowas too soupy. You have an option to bring your own bottle. No extra charge. We were in the mood for dessert but our server wasso eager to get rid of us and spoke Italian without any efforts to describe the menu. So we fave up on desserts and coffee.Just watch a Blind Date movie. And you get a picture ???????????????? Read more

I had my bridal shower here and it was great. The covered patio was a nice and didn't need to be decorated much for the... occasion. The food tasted great and looked good. The staff was friendly and helpful. Only issue we had was that the waiter wasnice but very green and seemed to have no idea what he was doing so it was a little disorganized and we had to ask for somethings a few times but something like that is more situational than the norm. I would hold an another event there in the future. Also the Salmon was really good. Read more
